During our time in Dharamshala, we learned a lot about China's occupation of Tibet. The situation in Tibet is important for us all to understand and connecting the dots made me realize that the pain and suffering people all over the world face, is enabled by the world's complicity in not holding countries like China accountable. And this will have far-reaching consequences for us all. In this video, we highlight why Tibetans fled their homeland in the 1950s, how the occupation is having devastating effects on the climate crises and how China's human rights abuses have gotten worse as they have made the entire world dependent on their products.
The occupation of Tibet is a cause for concern for us all.

These are the descendants of the wealthy landowners and owners of serfs/slaves, as well as the priestly caste that held much of the political and social power, who moved out of the country after they lost their power. Also, formerly te**orists who were paid by the CIA to attack any and all ethnically non-Tibetan people (completely ignoring the historic number of Hui people, for example, who have lived in the region for centuries). They are not "in exile". Also, "surveillance footage" consisting of grainy videos (with nothing that actually points to it being in China, being done by the government, them being children held captive, let alone it being "organ harvesting" - a claim that comes directly from the cult known as Falun Gong) and a security video in an elevator is not actual evidence. Also also, 90% of the population of Tibet today is ethnically Tibetan - that hardly makes them a "minority" in the region. They are, however, one of the 55 ethnic minority groups in China. This means that they actually get preferential treatment in China, with things such as being exempt from the One-Child Policy (when it was in effect), bonus points on university entrance exams, and discounts for tax purposes. Also also also, the Tibetan language is actively used, encouraged, and taught in schools throughout Tibet. It's also used throughout the province (do a quick google image search for "street signs in Tibet" and you will see for yourself). And considering the massive number of temples and monasteries that exist and are very active throughout Tibet (not to mention the Tibetan Buddhist temples in Xi'an, Beijing, Gansu, Sichuan, etc.), to claim that their religion is being oppressed is pure ignorance on your part. Also also also also, Tibet is not an "occupied country". Anyone who has even an ounce of knowledge on the history of the region will know that Tibet has been a part of China since either 1271 (when the Yuan dynasty was founded - it was conquered by the Mongolian Empire in the 1260s) or 1722 (when the Qing dynasty drove out the Dzungar Khanate which invaded in 1720). Heck, even the US acknowledged that Tibet was a part of China back in 1944. You can see it for yourself here on KZbin. Just look up the WW2 film "Why We Fight 6: The Battle of China". Very early on, only a couple of minuted into the film, it goes through the regions of China, and it includes the region of Tibet as being a part of China. Also also also also also, in the interview of the young woman talking about how difficult it is for her friends to contact family in Tibet, she literally says that it's because the Indian government blocks WeChat, which is, by far, the most common form of communication in China. To try and spin India's blocking of a Chinese app as proof that China is preventing people from communicating with those inside the country is ridiculous! Also also also also also also, on one hand you talk about the destruction of the environment of the Tibetan plateau (though you ignore the fact that it is mostly due to global warming) and on the other hand you accuse China of being evil for building dams on the rivers. The dams actually help protect against flooding, not to mention hydroelectric being a green source of generating electricity. This is a classic example of "having your cake and eating it, too".
