Excellent review of PNH-CAN! I've already been on 8 flights with CZ in 2023, 2 roundtrips of SGN-CAN-CKG-CAN-SGN, and the crew always delivered a warm experinece, and CZ is definitely my favaourite carrier. I think that the reason CZ didn't offer hot meal was because PNH's catering inability, and it wasn't really a dinner/lunch time.

So few travel channels still show the "aesthetics" of flying anymore (i.e. full takeoff & landing, cloudsurfing, etc.). It's all about the amenities onboard rather than the actual experience. Good stuff. 👍

I was lucky to have a pilot that seemed to love flying around the clouds and gave us some great views. Having a window seat is the best part of flying economy ✈️😄

Hi Duane. The hard product was quite good 8/10 with everything clean and in good condition, the only missing element was IFE. The catering was 5/10 but as expected from a Chinese airline.

How are the passengers so far on China Southern? Are they well-behaved and less noisy?

Once they got settled everyone was quiet. The passenger makeup was mostly single men/workers returning home. I’ve noticed in the past that it’s family groups or Chinese retirees going on group holidays that get a bit raucous.

Hey mate, iam planning on flying out of Sydney to Manila via Guanzhou, how was the transit process? Straight forward or should I be aware of something? Thank you in advance

I was surprised how easy it was. I was told at check in that I needed to fill out a Chinese entry app. But that was false. On arrival where people lined up for immigration they had staff directing transit passengers to the side and away for separate x-ray security and then you go up an escalator to the departure level. Very simple.

@@rus4lif They didn't ask for any COVID test etc. But I always have the Aus Govt COVID vaccination certificate app on my phone anyway just in case.

The transit at Guangzhou actually is amazing, as with this new Terminal 2, everything is bright and simple.
