China was around SEA since 5000 years ago. Back then there was no countries such as Phillipines , Vietnam, Japan , Korea ... Chinese ships roamed the South China Sea and Chinese people explored islands around Mainland China. That's why they have the 9 dash lines because it was theirs since thousand of years .
