So we have travelled for about 2 hours since leaving Guilin City, and now reaching the main tourists center. Here you will see a huge open space which is the coach parking area. From here, all visitors must "abandon" their big luggage (if there is one) by leaving it on the coach. Instead, bring only the basic necessity (toiletries, a change of clothes, chargers for electronic devices). This is because, the next part of the journey is via the local buses which are smaller and with no room for luggage. Furthermore, the final part of the trip is via a narrow foot path up the mountain slopes to the places for lodging.
We stayed at the area called Ping An Zhuang Zhu Rice Terrace District 平安壮族梯田观景区, a relatively quiet village.
