Tesla has the correct approach. Just look at it this way, humans, who can be very good at driving, use just their eyes as a sensor. The potential problem with humans has nothing to do with their ability to drive or any deficiency with their sensors. Problems generally arise when the human is distracted, takes attention away from the road (my car, an ICE vehicle, actually has a sensor that warns me if I am doing that), or just does something dumb (not an unusual occurrence). The idea of a self-driving car is to avoid these shortcomings. Huawei's approach requires the fusion of many sensors. I have worked with this in the aerospace environment and have taught it in technical courses. I know how difficult it can be. Considering the level of technology in China vs. the west, I doubt they can do a credible job.
@crunchyfrog555 Жыл бұрын
Wrong. It'as not just distraction as that's just one mere problem. Look at Tesla's effort - it's disastrous, doesn't work properly, and has injured many and caused accidents galore. We aren't even close to getting such a tech if we ever will be. You thoroughly misunderstand tech if you think it can replace it anytime soon.
@louisgiokas2206 Жыл бұрын
@@crunchyfrog555 Oh, come on man. I have been driving for half a century, and have had two accidents, both caused by mechanical failures. These failures were not something a self-driving technology could avoid. I also know lots of people who have similar driving experiences. If a large number of people can go that long without a driver induced accident, then I call that a success. As for Tesla's technology, do you have data on that? I am asking sincerely. Sources and numbers. I have to admit, few of the Tesla drivers I know or have run across, use the feature, and it is generally not because they had a problem, but because it is new, and I guess can be somewhat scary.

Doubts Arise Over Huawei's Autonomous Driving Technology Amidst Competition, Sanctions, and Ethical Concerns 🤔 There are doubts about Huawei's claims of having the most advanced autonomous driving technology. 00:00 Huawei's CEO claims their autonomous driving technology is far ahead of global counterparts. 00:00 Huawei's fan base promotes the technology, but videos are limited and repetitive. 00:38 Huawei's autonomous driving system requires human intervention after 1,000 kilometers. 01:06 Industry observers question the true capabilities of Huawei's technology. 01:35 Former employee reveals autonomous driving routes were pre-canned. 02:16 Skepticism arises regarding Huawei's ability to navigate around other vehicles. 03:26 🚗 Autonomous driving in China faces challenges with non-compliance to traffic rules and the need for balancing traffic efficiency. 07:44 Non-compliance with traffic rules in autonomous driving, such as crossing lanes improperly and cutting in line. 07:44 Strict adherence to traffic rules by autonomous driving systems can hamper traffic efficiency. 07:57 Autonomous vehicles may need to slightly break the rules to maintain traffic efficiency. 08:25 Determining when to bend or abide by traffic rules is a challenge for AI. 08:32 Promotional content for autonomous driving is deemed exaggerated and untrustworthy. 08:45 Huawei's aggressive strategy in autonomous driving poses challenges for other companies in the sector. 10:31 Huawei's relentless pressure on industry peers is acknowledged, as seen in the communication equipment market. 10:52 💥 Huawei faces intense competition from Western tech giants and struggles with sanctions, while its rival Apple receives a warm welcome for the iPhone 15. 11:41 Huawei launched the Mate 60 Pro to compete with the iPhone 15 but was outperformed by Apple's 3 Nom a177 chip. 11:41 Huawei's rotating chairman admits that domestic chips are at a primary school level compared to foreign chips. 12:04 Apple's sales in China surpass Huawei's, despite Huawei's strong online fan base. 12:20 Huawei's Harmony OS may face challenges if it drops Android compatibility, similar to Microsoft's failed attempt with Windows phone. 13:08 Huawei's achievement of creating 7 nanometer chips using 14 nanometer technology is seen as overhyped and may not significantly alter its fate. 13:44 The United States will likely devise new strategies to counteract Huawei and the Chinese Communist Party. 14:12 Huawei's work culture, known as wolf culture, is criticized for its extreme work intensity and potential negative impact on employees' well-being. 14:26 ⚠ The video criticizes Huawei's corporate culture and business strategies, claiming they prioritize profits over social responsibility and ethical standards. 15:28 Huawei's 'wolf culture' is accused of implementing harsh competition and eliminating employees within the company. 15:28 Chinese companies prioritize profits and market position at the expense of social responsibility and ethical standards. 15:41 China's economic success with Huawei is questioned in terms of long-term benefits and reliance on technology from the United States. 16:14 China's flashy propaganda and fabrication reflect a nation that fails to address core issues. 16:28 The world is watching how the Chinese Communist Party will navigate economic challenges and its relationship with the United States. 16:42 China should recognize the need to rely on advanced technology from the United States for economic transformation and competitiveness. 16:56 Failure to do so and attempting to challenge the US with borrowed technology could lead to negative consequences for both China and Huawei. 17:09

I don’t think completely autonomous driving is possible. The scenarios of the AI being a taxi or working in the car instead of driving or someone without a drivers license being the sole operator of a vehicle are never achievable but they have already been promised. The edge cases like emergency vehicles are too complex and too rare to ever solve with AI.
@MegaRazorback Жыл бұрын
Not only that but an AI can easily "hide" any issues (We'd consider it going past its original job as an issue) it may have if it fears being pulled out and reset...You put an AI that can do that in a vehicle and the moment it's found to have those issues it'll shut itself up from any outside comms and try to flee to preserve itself.

And just 5 years ago someone like you would also say having AI create paintings and photorealistic images would be impossible because it requires imagination and that's simply something that "machines" can't do, yet here we are. If you have a decent understanding of how true AI is built, then you'll know there is essentially nothing that AI can't do, and do it better than humans can. The bottleneck today is simply computation power and data. If humans can drive and handle edge cases, you can bet your ass that AI will someday also be capable. Go back in history far enough and you'll find people who thought sending a message across the entire Earth within seconds with a device that fits in your pocket would be impossible, people who thought flying and going to space would be impossible, a single weapon that could obliterate an entire city to be impossible, etc. Humans 30 years from now will judge your comment about cars driving themselves being impossible with the same kind of sentiment.
@MegaRazorback Жыл бұрын
@@kanesmith8271 Would we as a species EVER give an AI full freedom to do what it wants if we managed to make one? No we wouldn't, we'd have it locked down tighter than fort knox and the moment we either suspect or know of any issues we'd either kill it or reset it to what "factory" settings the thing was "made" with because the LAST thing we'd ever want is what amounts to in our eyes a rampant AI that's not under our control and if you think we wouldn't do that to the first AI ever made then you don't know human nature very well.

Such tactic is unhealthy to consumers who will have choices to choose for when competition is stronger. Why doesn't the American go after every single autonomous vehicle and mobile phone makers out there and only target Huawei specifically? I can only think that it is politically motivated. Oh, in case someone wants to rebut me, I don't use Huawei mobile phone, neither will I ever leave my life to an autonomous vehicle, whichever brands.
