Chinatown, Fresno: A History

I was born in Fresno and was hoping that you would mention the Quan Chuck family that used to own a meat packing company. My mom started working for them when she was 13 year old in the 1930’s and the business grew to become the meat packing company. My family attended T. Genevieve’s and the St. John’s Catholic Church. As a child we took “Mama Quan Chuck” shopping and everyone knew her. She would curse out the butchers if she did not like something in Chinese or mix of Chinese/english 😂 good times!

I used to live in the apartments above dicks shoe store. It was a very affordable place to live. On my SSA. But the crime in that area made it impossible to stay.

@@professorpatrickfontes 2015-16. I loved it there. Lotta mice and roaches. Lol. But the restaurants and such were amazing. Especially the thrift store ant the old hardware store. Place was amazing. Sweetest woman running it ever. Great prices. I was in a wheelchair. She even had her son carry my purchases home for me

After my wheelchair was stolen twice. And I got robbed coming home in daylight from rally’s. Then my unit robbed. I was done with it
