Team Canlas brought me here? Yes pero idol ko sila pareho when it comes to food vlogging.

Hi Ulithi! PS. ‘Yung “Conch shell meat” reminds me of the “conch” seashell meat that I had developed a taste for back in the late 70’s and early 80’s when I lived in the Cayman Islands, in the West Indies Carribean Islands. Mike, you should also try “marinated conch in vinegar with lots of onions, kamatis and hot pepper, bale kinilaw na conch. Make sure it’s the real conch, ‘yung ginagawang lampshade ‘yung shell… ewan ko lang kung endangered species na ito. Pero, ask mo kay Chairman Lau kung ‘yung conch na ipinatikim niya sa’yo ay the same type of conch shell na sinasabi ko sa’yo. Either way, “YOU MUST TRY IT!!!” Kinilaw na Conch! “ A MUST TRY!” Ilalaban ko ito ng yabangan, grabe ang sarap nito as in, even more sa inuman! Kailangan medyo maanghang! If you are fond of Kinilaw na Bangus, you will love Conch ceviche!!

Hi. Mike! Grabe ka Talaga mag vlog! First Ang swerte mo sa kaibigan mong si Chairman Lau! My best wishes to him! Hindi mo naitatanong super inggit na ako sa’yo ngayon dahil meron kang buddy that takes time to guide you in your China Town’s food exploration. My father was, for the longest time , a Fireman of Santa Cruz Station; he was actually a fire truck driver and a personal driver of Captain Tantianco back in the late 70’s up to the mid-90’s. Oscar Maniquis, my father, was dedicated to his job as a fire truck driver. He was stationed, at first in Fort Santiago in Intramuros that I now so regret that my Dad didn’t even get the chance to tour us around the park which is now on my bucket list. Ganun talaga siguro we tend to take things for granted and before you realize it time has gone by way too long. San Lazaro Station along Avenida Rizal near Bambang and that Government Hospital was his second assignment and up until late 80’s moved to China Town’s Station near Santa Cruz Church. I had a half Chinese Filipinos friends but just never had the opportunity to really explore China town until early 90’s and I was already leaving for the US (1994). Sayang talaga! Kaya nga sabi ko sa’yo you are so lucky to have Chairman Lau as your buddy! Perhaps I could have been a food vloger too had I not left our country; pero baka too old na ako then to venture into that, ewan din natin, after all I sang Delaware lang siguro nag eve gap natin. Believe it or not I even attended Sylvia Reynoso’s Culinary school in Pasig way before these “Chef wanna be’s” or self proclaimed chefs just sprouted like mushrooms everywhere. Kaya feeling ko, all talaga ang isa sa mga naunang nag-venture into food exploration during my era, kase iilan lang kaming mga guys na nag-a-attend sa class. Basically, aside from mahilig talaga ako sa food, or should I say bilang lahing Bulaqueño, at Kapampangan sa father side at certified food addict ay natakot akong manirahan sa Amerika nana wala g slam sa lutong Pinoy and that was the reason why I took some class from Sylvia Reynoso. Naku, nag mahal pa nag nag bayad for about 4 types of food, imagine 4 for Ph250 each session. well, I guess mahal na ‘yan at that time. No regrets though, I am so glad I did kase talaga namang nagamit ko soya ditto sa Amerika up to now, pero for personal purposes lang. Kaya naman my wife and I were always the light of each gathering in the family. Our cakes and food menu has always been a center of kwentuhan. Hindi pa uso nag Mama Sita’s Palabok mix, I was already cooking Palabok from scratch! Ganun ko ka mahal Ang mga lutong Pinoy at, of course, Chinese cuisine as well. Kaya nga pakiramdam ko, ka hit ‘di ako umami’s noon ay magiging successful din ako sa atin, but no regrets though. Kaya I love your channel, feeling ko ikaw ang nag-tuloy ng naudlot kong ganap! You being a musician, ‘di mo naitatanong I was one of the Karaoke Sing-along host and singer during the early 80’s when Karaoke bars starting to boom in our music industry, ako nga lang ‘yung silent type dahil hindi ako comedian. Well, just the same, all good memories comes back to me each time I watch your vlogs specially your China town’s food trips with your family being Chairman Lau as your guide. I love your Bulacan and Pampangga Trips too! Your Malabon was nostalgic and Ugbo Tondo , eating with your best friend, the look alike of Judy Santos’ s husband, Ryan ba ‘yon? ‘yung Empanada de kaliskis was an Epic too! Memorable din ‘yung.Batanggas outing ninyong mag-barkada, nana relate ako soon sa iyong remote control Jeep, which at first I thought was real hangang sa it got closer, Nagoyo mo ako doon hah? You see, one of my hobbies now is flying DJI’s drones, mahal na hobby but it’s a lucrative career for cloggers like you! Malay mo, ‘diba? Pasukan mo na rin ng experimental “cooking !” O, sige, na-carried away na naman ako! Ang galing naman kase ng takada mo sa food blogging eh… best wishes ulit sa’yo at sa familia mo! Looking forward to another one of your food exploration in China Town with your buddy Chairman Lau!

Siguro, this dinner would cost more than 10k pHp, whereas an ordinary filipino monthly salary would be 20 to 35k. Sana, next time, yung mga affordable but delicious chiinese food naman (esp. it's in Chinatown). Just saying ✌️😊

@ReiMurdoc…….Grandpa, sa yo na galing, REQUEST. May Nasabi ba akong demand??? At, it’s an honest review of his vlog in YT, was I lying when I wrote, it was expensive? Masarap man ang pagkain, ang CHAKA naman ng lugar! For those prices, I might as well, go to a 5 star hotel! Food, is not just for the tongue, it all starts with your eyes. At Saka, this vlogger’s WHOLE approach to vlogging is low-key, delicious, approachable AND AFFORDABLE. Nagsimula nga siya sa patikim-tikim, di ba? That’s the whole pitch of his channel. AGAIN. ITS IN CHINATOWN, NOT BGC!
