That lab was established with the help of American institutions and had American scientists working with the Chinese in that same lab up until the Chinese decided to kick them out - the military sector took it over. A number of those American scientists managed to keep in contact with their Chinese colleagues they worked with and learned that the protocols they had implemented initially to prevent anything from getting released in the wild at the founding of the lab were no longer kept at the same level, as a result of the military involvement with a different focus on military applications, essentially they got careless. Workers got infected by what they were working on and took it to the neighborhoods they lived in and the rest is history. And those Chinese colleagues that talked were disappeared for several years and only relatively recently have shown up on the radar again, no longer associated with the lab and not talking.

@CoffeeAndPaul9 күн бұрын
@@recondax, it's actual pressure. Even communists have to consider domestic spending as a percentage of GDP or did you miss the whole second half of the video? I don't see how the Chinese Communist Party will be able to create a successful and consumer purchase -driven economy. Consumers feel confident buying when they know they have accessed all the facts about a product. How can you know that you have access to the best product information in a heavily censored economy like China's? Last Year, in a couple of the poorer Provinces, there were a handful of legit runs on Provincially -backed regional banks. Chinese people don't even trust their banks. How do you sell people on your products when the very core institution of commerce looks shaky? That's why Chinese people are buying gold now. They aren't buying jewelry. They're buying gold bars. They wouldn't be doing that if they thought their economy was in great condition. This tilt to consumers is too late, and because it's too late it's also too little. The Chinese government doesn't have the money to pump real stimulation into their domestic economy. They're almost bankrupt now exactly because of prior, poorly executed economy -pumping initiatives.
@EdAsher9 күн бұрын
There’s always been an implicit ‘contract’ with middle class in China, that’s is ,’ we’ll deliver you a better standard of living in exchange for voting for the CPP and effective suppression of yr freedoms’. Coming from a mostly historic poor illiterate rural economy this seemed to have broadly worked for the Chinese people in the past up until now, but global winds and a crippling economy might mean the educated middle class ( and poorer provinces) might let the ruling party be ‘aware’ of this ‘contract’. This is what they’re afraid of.
@recondax9 күн бұрын
@@CoffeeAndPaul I have to agree with the move to build up the consumer sector. That move should have been done years ago instead of all the inferstructure projects that boasted GDP but drove the governments into debt. Another issue with this is the CCP actually going to give that much power to consumers (the common people) to effect the need changes? The Chinese people have tried to buy things for years, like semi-precious stones, stocks, housing, and jewelry, to have something of value when things really get bad. The main problem is the general mindset of individuals. A great deal of individuals will sell goods tagged as one thing but will sell items inferior to the consumers. I have a strong assumption that the gold bars are going to be adulterated. I will have to re-watch the last half to see what I missed.

The shift of income and benefits from a Bourgeois middle class to small businesses and capital formation of the working and rural classes is one of the prime movers of the industrial revolution , and the high innovation economies of the west. I contend the broadening of the economy is the way for any country to improve its innovation.
