When researching we found actually a lot of different numbers and years! Seems there's a lot of information out there. We believe the eldest script is indeed Chinese but willing to be proven wrong with the right sources :)

@@LTLChinese I'm pretty sure it's Sumerian out of modern day Iraq...that is the oldest script. But if you are talking about a (modern?) language people still study or speak, I believe it's Egyptian. Never in my life heard it was Chinese...maybe Chinese is like 7th or 8th down the list, even after Greek, something like that...I took a linguistics class in my master's program (TESOL) over just a summer...best option would be to ask a historical language expert, such as someone with a PhD in Linguistics. 😉

@@ambientacademy Agreed Sumerian in Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq) dates back to 2600 BC with Cuneiform script and the first Mesopotamian script dates back to 3200 BC which should be more than 3000 years old.
