It's not that Chinese scorpions are good, it's that Hearttt played like a hamster and ignored entirely that Magyars have halbs/onagers with siege engineers, outranging Chinese scorps by 2 tiles.

I think it's because scorpions are now so reliable, people forget how to counter them and just go with meta builds. Before the buff, you never saw them. It's my only explanation to it or not knowing the civ properly which sounds ridiculous when talking about a pro player

@@JW-jd6sn Iz true, the older a game is, the more inflexible the meta becomes. Sometimes old games like AoE2 or TF2 will get rare breakthroughs even with no updates, but it can still be hard to shake old biases like 'Scorpions are only good massed against archers'. We're not used to the idea of basic no-civ bonus Scorpions being good yet. It's like if we woke up tomorrow and being told Feudal Age Man at Arms destroy Scouts and can snipe TCs, it would take weeks for even half of us to acknowledge it.

I mean, it is also Viper's fault, who even expected Scorpions finisher 1111 Hearttt also got assblasted early on that he had to make multiple towers, delaying his TC which negated his early castle timing advantages. Later on he couldn't deal damage to Viper's base and even lost too much units attempting to do so, due to him losing too much and couldn't replace fast enough, Viper gained map control and dropped castles everywhere, it is gg at this point. You can theorycraft unit comps to best Viper's late game comps, but it will stay theory because Hearttt can no longer produce anything.
