Thanks - got the remote paired and it works! The only thing I haven't figured out is the clock. The display shows the clock... I hit the button to set and go through the time sections and it appears to be working... the colon flashes but the time never changes. Everything else on the remote seems to work as it should. Is there possible another function for the clock and mine could be in a different mode? Ever seen this happen?

I’m glad the remote works. It’s been a while since I have set up a heater and don’t currently have one in my new build. I don’t remember coming across the issue of the time not changing, unless you are setting the count down timer up instead of the time?

@AutomotiveDen4 жыл бұрын
I do love listening to the differences between English & America-English, but the way we say aluminium comes from the fact we stick extra letters into the word. Probably because one day a longer word meant more points in a game, so aluminum became aluminium

Good vid mate on how easy it is to pair the fob to the controller. You've got me thinking now ( yeah that could be dodgy, me thinking lol ) my eberspacher diesel heater has a manual controller and I'm wondering if I could remove it and use a Chinese one ( with remote ) to control it. I don't like leaving my nest to fiddle with controllers either 😜
@AutomotiveDen5 жыл бұрын
Not sure if different controllers work. What about cutting the loom between the controller and the heater and just extending the wiring? That’s what I was originally going to do to mine to put it in my bed area, but then I found it came with a remote so there was no need
@pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN5 жыл бұрын
@@AutomotiveDen I like it where it is 50% of the time so there wouldn't be much point but a remote control unit would definitely feel like an upgrade. I'll do some research on it. Cheers 👍👍👍
@Gtvoao5 жыл бұрын
@@pa_maj.MARTINI-van-MAN I'd get a wireless toy of some sort and connect it to the on button. xD You could also get a original remote, perhaps a used controller and replace it, that would be the normal way to do it.

Hey man, thanks for the video. This makes the second controller I've bought. The one that came with my kit had a knob and on/off buttons. The second one has a timer but I cannot get the thing to work! I installed this heater to preheat the interior of my van because the engine is carbureted so I cannot use a remote starter with it. Plus it has a manual transmission. Which is OK as long as I remember to put it in neutral! I set it to kick on 12 hours later so my van is nice and toasty when I leave for work or get off work (I work 12 hour shifts) and run for 2 hours then manually shut it off after my van's engine has warmed up but for some reason it's hit or miss. The timer wants to stop at 3 hours and 47 minutes before for it reaches 12 hours. I bought a second controller with a remote. I tried the timer function with it and it does the same thing! As usual it came with no instructions, or battery in the remote. And it was preset for 24 volts so it kept giving me a battery error. I was able to find this 27A battery at an auto part store because it's used in allot of garage door openers here in the United States. Not cheap at $5.00 + 10% tax! Never would have known what kind of battery it took. I was able to pair the remote thanks to your video. Question. This is going to require two people on cell phones or allot of walking back and fourth but do you know the range on this remote? How close do I need to be to my van before the remote will communicate with the controller. Have you tried that? Here's my installation on my van : kzbin.info/www/bejne/raOxcn-nia-Sbac

Heya I’m not sure on the distance the remote works, but I can’t imagine it will be too far, probably a similar distance that a car remote fob works

@@AutomotiveDen so far looks about around 30 feet. At least I can start my heater without having to exit the turnstile at my plant and start it from within the van. There is a chain link fence between the plant and the parking lot.
