On April 26th, on a highway in Yuncheng, Shanxi Province, a black Huawei Aito M7 was involved in a rear-end collision. It resulted in a fire in the front cabin and the tragic loss of three lives. This incident shattered a family in an instant and sparked public concerns about the safety of electric vehicles. Chinese media published articles scrutinizing the incident but were subsequently taken down.

Unnecessary electronics may have been introduced and "popularized" by EVs but lots of it is finding its way into newer ICEVs too. Car manufacturers want to amortize costs by standardizing their hardware and software across models regardless of what the drive train is.

@@monkeygalaxy6322It wasn't the Bosch model that was utilized but the one from FreeTech. This isn't the only reason for keeping Chinese vehicles out of the West. Another video referred to BYD's "chopstick" steering control arms. Instead of cast aluminum alloy they were made of tubular steel the thickness of a human finger. The batteries are another concern. I have yet to see a news story of a Tesla or Rivian bursting into fire, or worse, exploding. Doors that won't unlock after a crash, airbags that don't deploy, wheels and axles that fall off under normal use? Nevermind the accusations of dumping excess industrial production these vehicles are not built to the safety standards of the West.

One thing they are not talking about, is the water truck. It's driving in the fast lane at idle speed. It doesn't have any warning lights and no crash cushion. In the West, when a truck is doing work like that on the highway or interstate, it has a huge warning light display. Normally, it includes a huge arrow(s) to warn people to slow down and move over. Then, there's the impact attenuating crash cushion. It protects the workers and anyone who might crash into it. Some places will have a special vehicle called the Attenuator truck behind the work truck(s). The whole thing is basically a giant impact cushion with warning lights on top. This tech is at least 40 years old. Chyna has "self driving" EVs but not the most basic safety tech from the 80s? Get ur priorities in line, Chyna!

AU regulatory 101 - or “how we do it in Oz”. They’ll allow them initially, and the alphaware buyers will be a national panel of sacrificial lab-rats, then once the maim and death rate figures for a given make and model reach a certain rate, the safety regulators will force a compulsory recall, then when firmware ‘updates’ fail to stop the kill and maim rate only then will the regulators pull the model from sale. Oz, land of the free (to be screwed over by foreign corporations, incompetent regulatory authorities, and pollies on the take) 😂

An early Tesla model S caught on fire in South Florida with a doctor from the hospital where a friend worked. The car caught on fire after the crash and the fire rescuers were unable to get the man out of the car and he was emolated. Tesla have emergency manual door releases now as a result of this early tragedy. Sad to hear about these chinese EV buyers perishing in the wreck. I hope the govt in china will force the EV makers to produce safer cars.

The Chinese government is pushing this whole agenda that's causing these problems and then you expect them to fix the problems they cause? They don't care about anything other than creating money and creating the illusion of prosperity.

Elon’s cars have killed plenty of people over the years … the kill and maim rates may differ, but the man is no different to the avaricious obfuscating psychopaths running car corporations in CN.

I don't understand why there isn't a safety requirement for all EVs to unlock doors automatically on impact. I am concerned by car companies removing manual handles to save cost when these redundancies have always existed and saved lives. It's also incredible they can just pretend to use the Bosch system when they put the money into a competitor they have a stake in.

Obviously it was Huawei’s IDS and it has become a nebulous finger pointing contest to avoid blame and negative publicity for a borking system.
