Woo Hoo!!! How exciting!! I just love watching Charles Hanson do the Auctioning whenever I watch Bargain Hunt. I always think that he is one of the best Auctioneer's to achieve the very best price for the Red and Blue teams participating that day. Whereas some Auctioneer's don't seem to try very hard to "stretch" it out and try to get those extra few pounds, which can maka all the difference to the team!! I wish Bargain Hunt would come to Australia again...I live in South Australia & I would just LOVE to be on the show!! I watch it every day over here.

I wonder if the buyer would consider putting up £300 for a food bank, let alone £300k for a dust collecting vase.....yes , for the rich.... I'm a working class philistine

We shouldn't assume that just because they can spend a ridiculous amount on a vase that they don't give the equivalent or more to charity.

when you see something make a lot of money above auction estimate go ask can you look at it then you'll know if you see another but remember auctioneers guestimate you will normally get a better price in auction than from taking it to a local shop and make sure they are a on Line auction

Wonder if it is actually just a very good modern fake tbh. You would think a M&P vase of that era and of such fine quality would be worth more.

Both Britain and France looted, though France to a lesser extent than Britain. As looting formed a key feature in Britain's military budgeting process, it often led to unchecked and undisciplined grand larceny. Typically, plundered goods were gathered and routed to ports where crated freight was shipped to London auction houses which functioned in fencing the loot. Received monies went to officers, lower ranks and a compensation fund for the wounded and families of dead soldiers. Something of a nadir in post-Enlightenment European moral development.

The Chinese had a thriving porcelain market with the West. They sold these pieces. Not everything from another culture that is in the west was stolen. Get a damn grip. We should be angry at the Chinese for the vast and outrageous theft of our technology. Porcelain is just pottery.
