In five video clips released by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) regarding the incident at Ayungin Shoal on June 17, where troops were delivering food supplies to the BRP Sierra Madre, the aggressive and violent actions of the Chinese forces are clearly visible.
According to the AFP on June 19, the Chinese Coast Guard (CCG) troops employed “physical attacks, bladed weapons, blaring sirens, and blinding strobe lights” to prevent the delivery of food, drinks, and other essential supplies to the Filipino soldiers aboard BRP Sierra Madre.
The “brutal assault” by the CCG occurred near the BRP Sierra Madre, preventing the country's troops from offloading the food supplies to the personnel on the military outpost within Philippine territory.
This confirms the account from a reliable source of #PalawanNews, detailing that the Filipino troops were hit, shouted at, threatened with sharp objects, and pelted with hard objects, including coral stones. Additionally, their vessels were damaged.
The video also demonstrates that despite their resistance, the Filipino troops-including those on board the BRP Sierra Madre who were pouring water-exercised maximum tolerance in accordance with the AFP's instructions prior to their deployment on the resupply mission.
