Yes, same as Khmer, many beautiful meaning songs in the old days but not the same these days, so i listened to only old songs....they were great!!!
This particular song was released and translated from a Chinese movies "I, Broken Heart", in 1970. The song at the beginning of the film and where the man is leaving his wife and two children to go to the United States. Very sad and drepressing Chinese movie.

I remember listening to this song when I was in the refugee camp in 1979. I loved the song, but I never paid attention to the lyrics. now that I understand what this song is all about, I'm so interested to hear more about this movie. Do you know why he left his wife and kids? I would to watch this movie. I heard the sound track from this movie is awesome. "sra mou kav" is also one of the songs from his movie. anyway, thanks for sharing:)

The beginning of the film and is where the separation began. He left his wife and two children to go to the United States. The wife lives with her mother-in-law, she was forced to work in a nightclub for her living. The two children dropped out of school. When her husband returned from the U.S., he found out that she is untruthful because she has to work at a nightclub. He had told her that he has a new wife, and this is the last time he will be here to look after his children. She felt broken hearted, and later committed suicide. The movie has six beautifully dramatic and depressing songs. The songs all were sung by Ros Sereysothea, except one song was sung by Pen Ron. You may search this movie on You Tube in Chinese version, if you can write in Chinese language. The movie title in English is “I, Broken Heart”. I have seen the movie.

Reply to Guitrich: You are totally WRONG! At the end of the film where the two children were at the grave, their mother is death. The father had found them at the grave, and he ripped off the airplane ticket 'No trip to the U.S.A.' Am I clear to you Guitrich?

Excuse me. It's been over 40 years since I saw the movie. You are so clear.

Please follow my posted. Besides, I have an excellent memory of Thai films which had showed in Cambodia in the total of 67 of Thai films, and Khmer films as well.
This is without a doubt my favorite video on KZbin. Thank you darrenvkham for bringing me this wonderful music.

Ros can imitate Lin's voice but Lin can't imitate Ros's voice. So far, no one on this earth can imitate her voice. Ros and Whitney Houston had the voices that can't be duplicated.

Lin's voice was recorded first. How was she supposed to imitate her? They don't even know each other. Stop comparing apples to oranges.

Reply to Funny videos of Chanthoeurn: the songs were originally translated and released from a Chinese movie.

The song originally was not in Khmer version. The song originally was released neither from Chinese or Japanese version in 1969 - 70.
