Can you do a video on the pilot relief valve on the 15 models ?

Hey Cam, your videos are extremely helpful. Much appreciated. I have a Shandong Longsheen LX06-9 mini excavator. Very similar to yours. I was having issues with the high speed travel not working and low machine performance after using it for a while. The high speed travel would work intermittently, then not not work at all. I do understand this is a flow issue to the travel motor, but I had suspected the hydraulic system was dumping before the high flow would kick in. The motor would start to rev up, but would immediately rev down as it dumps. I put a test gauge setup on the auxiliary hose and find that the system relief valve setting is only able to be adjusted to ~800 - 1000 psi. Pulled the relief valve several times, appears fine. The system does remain at the same pressure after releasing the actuator. I have also tightened the 3 valve manifold thru bolts as suggested to another. Frustrating issue. Do you recommend I replace the relief valve? Any device sourcing Chinese excavator parts? Again, much appreciated, Paul - Rhode Island

Hey Cam. Been enjoying your videos. I appreciate all the knowledge you have been spreading. And how you show in detail the aspects of what it is you are advising on. I have a question pertaining the hydraulic function of the tracks. Is there a way to boost power to just the track system? I’m finding it difficult to climb my hillside or even getting up the ramps on the trailer. Power seems good everywhere else. Thanks in advance for any advice on this issue.

Ironically, I had this problem Sunday. I was trying to turn the tracks, and the left track didn't want to turn forward. I pinned the lever to only put pressure to the track motor and didn't have enough flow to turn. I could hear the tail-tale noise of bypass valve kicking in. I ended up using the bucket and boom to turn me. Not sure if internal seal leaking or bypass pressure set too low. Will check in a couple days. I have a PSI gauge on my hydraulic forge press.

Hi Cam. Another good video. I'm still working on solving the problem of jerky controls. Question: would lowering the pressure in the relief valve slow down or smooth out the jerky movement of the bucket, stick, boom and tracks? Also, are there two relief valves - one to control each side? Thanks in advance.
@thegarageconnection4 ай бұрын
One system relief valve to control the whole thing unfortunately. If you did lower the relief valve pressure you would severely effect your machines ability to lift

Hey Cam. Tested my pressure because my machine, once the fluid gets hot it won’t turn easily if at all…a zero turn is impossible. Pressure was a little low, as a tightened that Allen screw the pressure went up but then as I held the lever it started to leak down. I cleaned the relief valve but does this seem like the whole valve is bad? Thank you. Your videos are great for these things, great content.

So, this AgroTK machine was delivered with only 500psi system relief setting? If so, that's a new low. I have seen numerous 1500psi settings, but my first machine (XN08) was right at 2400 from the factory. 2400 to 2500psi is recommended. Good job on the video.

Interesting. As you already know, the valve stack uses large single O-rings between each section. I would expect to see a significant external leak if what you describe happened. Once you tightened up the bolts, what was your system pressure?@@thegarageconnection

@@thegarageconnection what I meant to say was, the valve stuck open, and the machine continued moving even though I released the handle. To stop moving, I had to pull the handle back the opposite way, then release. It only did that once. I am wondering if a piece of debris was flowing through the valve at the time I released the lever. Anyway, I think I will replace the hydraulic fluid and check out the inside of the tank. Thanks!

What is your opinion on whether the boom cylinder is better on top or below the boom? Some argue that if it's below, it has more power to lift. Of course, it is better protected on top.

Important to have the system warmed up before adjusting hydraulic pressure. Not just the engine, but especially the hydraulics. And of course, also a huge no-no to start a cold engine at full throttle.
@megape954 ай бұрын
All the small generators i know of just go on full throttle right away. No big deal. Just dont load it all the way instantly. At 30-40°c the hydraulics hould work as intended. Otherwise the hydraulics are badly engineered
@phloughtgnarpsehs72634 ай бұрын
@@megape95 no big deal until the engine needs an overhaul considerably earlier than if it was given time to warm. In the case of generators, it’s by design that they have to start up at operating rpm. But it’s not ideal. They of course experience more wear as a result, compared to engines that are allowed to warm up at idle. It’s why there’s a throttle control on these units. Not just on or off. As for hydraulics, you are correct that at 30-40c, the hydraulics should work as intended. Thats typical operating temperature. And operating temp is when relief valves should be adjusted. Not cold. Hydraulic oil has much different flow characteristics when cold. If the valves are set to a particular pressure when the oil is cold, you’ll find the relief pressure has changed when the system is up to operating temp.
