Chinese mini skid engine swap from v twin to single cylinder

In this video, I'm gonna be removing the 23 hp v twin briggs engine and replacing it with a single cylinder honda clone engine. Lets go through the process of building coupler, mounting pump, and installing engine. Let's see if it's gonna perform like the vtwin engine that was originally in the machine!!! What a great video. We tested the rpm of the drives on various 14 hp and 23 hp mini skids and they were all the same speed. Thank you for proving the 13 hp will pull the pumps they used behind the 23 hp.

Correct. They are all the same speed. The torque Is greater on the v twin for sure. But my video proves that the one cylinder has more than enough power to do the job. Really, the only advantage to the v twin that I can see is the added weight to help lift capacity.

Hydraulics are pretty straightforward. Just kore expensive to work on! Haha. Glaf i could help!!

If there isn't any crap in the carb plugging it up try opening up the main jet a bit. I've done it with welding tip cleaners in a pinch, just a few thousanths of opening can make the difference. Some of these machines had the extra horsepower for hydralic pto attachments like snowblower or sweeper, but as you have just proven less horsepower still operates the machine just fine. Good cheap fix!

Carb has dirt in it. That's why it's surging.

It was the spring for the linkage going from the carb to the gov. Once I put the spring on, surging stopped
