This video really hit home. When I was a kid I would just stay in my room all day learning how my gun worked. Before school, handle my gun. After school, handle my gun. Before bed, handle my gun and sometimes between all these times. It drove my parents crazy. Day in and day out all I ever heard was "why are you always doing that", "do you have to make so much noise", "where are all the boxes of tissue", "did you steal my lotion again". To this day my gun holds a special place in my heart and hand. Maybe I'll make a video about it someday and post it on here to share a bit of my childhood with the world. Happy Holidays!

I used this kind of knowledge to realize that Black Ops: Cold War had some attention to detail in the campaign. When you're in Vietnam, the Vietnamese use Chinese AKs, identified by the front sight being hooded. When you run into the Spetsnaz, they use actual Russian AKMs with an open top front sight. Neat little attention to detail
@wilhufftarkin85432 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I noticed that, too. The Americans also use M16A1s and wooden M14s in the Vietnam missions. In multiplayer, the M14s are polymer and the M16s are A2s. Yet they still screwed everything up by giving the East German soldiers in the Berlin mission MP5s with red dot sights.Why didn't they just give them AKs??

@Brandon Herrera - as an AK noob, a video that would be really helpful for me (and I'm sure lots of other folks) would be a ranking of AK variants. You could rank them based on what a knowledgable AK consumer would want based on price/value, rarity/availability, quality, historical value, etc. For example, I wouldn't know what was better to spend my money on: Chinese AK, Russian, Bulgarian, PSA, Centurion, (ok, I kinda know those last 2), etc, etc. Which are the most rare and sought after? And in what configuration? Folder, underfolder, krink/shorty, ak47 or ak74? Anyways, I think this would get a lot of views and would be helpful in growing the AK community.

These are such nice rifles. I had one built from an unfired underfolder Mak-90 kit that just so happened to have all the components to make it a double-folder so I said screw it and had it built.

Definitely don't make fun of the folding bayonet. Had one save my life one time. Very dangerous situation occurred and for some reason I had an SKS with the folding bayonet still on it and somehow I missed with the 10 rounds and ended up having to do a bayonet charge. Luckily it was only about 30 ft away. Probably the only time in the state that I live in that a bayonet charge was executed and successfully done on an evil dangerous milk jug. Good thing I got it all thanks to the bayonet that thing could have killed me LOL

Providing you have access to a range and aren’t a criminal or mentally incapable you could get a section 1 FAC and get either a 22lr semi auto AK or a straight pull centerfire one.

WASR or PSA if you're looking for below $1000. If you can spend a little more then a Kalashnikov USA 103. The KUSA will set you back about $1200

About the hooded front sight: when the Chinese started to make AKs at their factory 626 (mistakenly refer to as Factory 66), the first 1,000 AKs were assembled from Soviet made parts which had the open front sight. The subsequent Chinese AKs had the hooded front sight and one reason (which I can't verify) is that the Chinese conscripts were confusing the protective wings for the front sight post especially under low light conditions; the front sight is thinner and lower than the wings of the hood, so they went with a enclosed hood.
