Back in the 80's while onboard the USS Constellation CV-64 the ship was routinely followed by Russian trawlers. During one of the time the carrier had Russian Bombers fly directly down the center line if the carrier till they found out the trawlers was following. The ship slowed and let the Trawler get close then the Carriers radar stop rotating and locked onto the trawler a few seconds later the Russian trawler started pour smoke out from the trawler. I found out the carrier locked the radar and turned it up frying all the electronics aboard the trawler.

If China tries anything it will follow Russia directly. More ships, yes they have. But mostly small ships. With just one cruiser you can take down 50 rubber boats with simple guns on them. Then the boycott can begin. Also crucial sea lanes will be cut off, and China will deficit with a 60% shortage on oil. Tariffs might increase to 2000% or any trade will be cut off completely. The United States and Europe are already working with Mexico to move vital production companies to Mexico because of this reason, and for the simple reason Mexico is closer by. The United States produces twice as much oil than Saudi Arabia, and is energy independent. Also with the oil embargo in place the United States can catch two birds with one stone. Also Iran will be affected and they also will pay the price for sending missiles to Russia, that bombs Ukraine. China might be a big economical power house, but they actually lack the resources needed to maintain it. Even with economical boycotts from a coalition of multiple (western) and allied countries China can turn into a current Russia. And even if it comes down to a military showdown the Chinese are still one or two decades behind American technology.

No ship radar can go pass 15 miles at sea level, plus the height of the transceiver above sea level might give it another 10 miles, what they are relying on is satellite tracking radar. The reason why you can't go pass the curvature horizon of the planet is because of the frequency that radar works on, it will not skip like long wave to short wave frequency do, it can only work in a straight line, So if there is a war the first target will be Satellites, take away the eyes and ears makes those who built up and depend on it blind and deaf. Also go back to just after the War, the United Nations agreement was that South China Seas was to be return back to China, this agreement was set up by the USA, UK, France, USSR and China and then put forward to the rest of the UN, the only thing that as change when this agreement was made and signed the Nationalist Chinese Government was being back by UK, USA and they thought that the Nationalist would win the civil war in China, but they did not they lost and because of that the USA invaded Taiwan and let the Nationalist controlled that island forcing the majority of Chinese Taiwanese people off Taiwan who resettled in China, but because of this now the USA do not want China to control the South China Sea, also Vietnam are backing China, Vietnam are part of the New Silk Road something else the western world do not like, China is in the way of the USA empire building, USA tried to control the world by finance that is collapsing very fast, it's like in Africa the western world put Africa into debt that they can not get out off, the table as turned on this China are doing things for Africa at no cost to them and now these African countries don't want to know France, UK, Dutch, Belgium and the USA, they want them gone, only one African Country will carry on supporting the western world and that is South Africa a British Commonwealth Country, how much longer for is any one guest

My comment is not to fear or be intimated by a foreign nations forces. This especially applies to nations that are outright military dictatorships including those of the Marxist variety. Maintain composure but do not back down and use the situation to take advantage of them. Use new tactics and technology sparingly to minimize your exposure. As to growth and quantity we are learning that it’s not at all about that. It is the quality across the board for everything in your military as we see now in the Ukraine, Israel and possibly Taiwan. And one nation involved is showing us that they have more soldiers and equipment but the combination of both appears to be more crap than quality that can not withstand an invasion and ongoing occupation of their own territory by the defending nation. No matter how big or small or how the smaller is assisted or has transformed it is still a fact and a way of saying “so what” we are still standing and now we are standing in your country. So what if you have more. Molan Labe and all nations should take note.

@erichastings-ro7vs There's a difference between what the US does. What we do is protect civilian shipping and maintain peace. Pirates are a thing in the South China Sea, just like off the coast of Somalia. What China does is very different. They builld artificial islands with military bases on them and harass ships, mainly from the Philippines, ramming into them or spraying them with water hoses, as well as try to starve out Filipino outposts, and allow their fishing fleet to trespass in the Economic Zones of the Philippines and Vietnam, since their own waters are overfished. Two of them actually did the same in South Korea's water and the ships and crews were basically detained. Chinese fishing boats even trespass in US waters, even off the West Coast. Pretty sure the last time a Chinese fishing trawler trespassed in US waters, we detained the crew and sank the trawler. If China respected everyone else's waters, they wouldn't be hated by all of Southeast Asia, to the point _Vietnam_ is more friendly with us than China.

I could fill the screen with expletives and adjectives, but, even I have read the Tao Te Ching. Their aggravated knowing that we have deer rifles with telescopic scopes and knowledge of booby traps laid in scary places. Now our Military are more than capable of whittling down any known aggressors !🎉
