I saw the Japanese version a couple of years ago and played American one of this game when I was a child, but the Mandarin voices (I'm sure it's Mandarin) were a complete new experience for me... but not the best. Voices in Mandarin haven't the same level of emotions and passion unlike the Japanese ones.

I know, it really changes with each language, some are more expressive than others, I think chinese people are more expressive with their bodies than with their voices.

@@ZpinalX As Chinese languages use tonal phonetics (Mandarin, Cantonese, Yue, etc.), they wouldn't allow, in my opinion (I might be wrong), to express a large amount of emotions by the moment of speaking because native speakers have to follow the tones rigidly in order to sound more understandable to others, although as it occurs in all languages there are feelings and emotions that can be understood according of the context and culture.

@@pierovasquez8450 oh, that's interesting, that explains why chinese are so expressive with body language.

@@ZpinalX And that explains why Chinese-languages videoclips ALWAYS have subtitles in Han characters. When they sing in any Chinese language, they have to "sacrify" some tones and pronunciation in order to adapt their voccal ranges to chords.

The dub is also noticeably based on the English script rather than directly translating from the Japanese original.
