Honestly, I get more ASMR feels from this video than any of the ASMR tea ceremony videos. Ironic because this is just a tea ceremony demonstration, not even meant for ASMR.

You are cute :) Very interesting ceremony. I think it is a great way of socialization, watching someone doing something without talking and then you drink together. We need more traditions like this.

good question. 1st reason is to keep brewing temperature consistent- same on the outside of teapot as inside. helps the flavor develop better. 2nd reason is to put a shine on the clay pot; new teapots have a matte finish and look kind of ugly. it's the oil from tea leaves that give the teapot it's shiny finish. the more you use the teapot the better it looks. older teapots have a shiny lacquer finish. but it's not painted- it's buildup of tea leaf oil. so, pour tea on top of teapot every time.

Wow, so many steps in 5 min. It would help if there is an explanation. Do we water the pot to keep it warm?

I have seen this video before, but I must say that I enjoy watching this simple, yet elegant, ceremony, which is better than the Japanese tea ceremony. Thank you for presenting this on KZbin! 😀
@morganolfursson25606 жыл бұрын
It is just different from the Japanese tea ceremony . not better not worse . Besides there are hundreds of different styles of Chinese and Japanese tea ceremonies .

Big difference between water from brass piping and water being brought to boiling temperature in a metal pot. It is best to use spring water etc or to let your tap water settle for a few days, if unavoidable.

For some reason, this makes a lot of sense to me. It's a cleaning (straight boiled water first), seasoning (first round of tea poured onto the clay to enrich flavor), and enjoyment (ahh oolong) ritual. A great cultural strong point for the traditional Chinese family.

please can you tell me the name of this beautiful music? its so lovely I could listen to it for hours. thank you.

For the best tea, it is necessary to avoid the water making contact with metal. The metal boiler and strainer are not so good, though convenient. A porcelein or glass pot is better.

I don't know how much you know about the specifics in tea brewing, but do you think you could do one that explains what the tools are and just why you do things ins certain order? Oh and love the face you make when you spill the tea leaves, it's too cute. Lol

Wood and bamboo utensils also have an incredibly strong taste...as strong as metal. So, I'm not sure what you are talking about. I prefer to boil my tea in pots made completely of gold or silver, to ensure that there is no taste from the pot.

What's the purpose of pouring the first infusion over the teapot? Does it have a function or is it just part of the ritual?

Can I ask what the point of the narrow sharp utensil is? Why would you scrape the tea out of the spoon instead of tipping it in?
@zalt5713 жыл бұрын
You have to understand the tea culture in China to know why there is water and tea everywhere on the table. It is ment to be that way. The hot water warms the cups and the teapot. It also washes the tea. This was a demonstration but when it is done by someone special there is more meaning to the ceremony.

That's what throws me, and then I realized what it looks like. I think I know why she's doing it: She's making tea, and demonstrating the shop's wares....there is no real Gong Fu, not even casually. It feels like tea...really-bad porn. Does that make sense? Educational, but not what it's about. Their website needs corrections and a makeover, too.
