Excellent!! I much prefer using the crochet hook. Now I won't have twisted chains any more. Thanks!

I have been doing the Chinese Waitress cast on with 2 needles and I do okay with that. Right now though I have no fingernails, well actually they are just extremely thin like a baby nail. Casting on was getting painful. This is the most exciting video I have watched in a long time. 30 stitches on in no time flat.

Hi Eunice, I'm so glad to hear this helped you! I'm sorry to hear about your fingernails, though. I used to use some great fingernail nourishing hardener on my nails when I was filming videos all the time and my nails had to look perfect. Maybe you can find something you can put on them that will help.

This is a major improvement to a cast-on that I already loved, now I love it even more and it's easier to do when the yarn wraps around the back of the hook like that instead of beside it! It's easier, looks better, and even seems to have more stretch! I dislike long-tail cast-ons so this is my go-to and you made it so much better. 🥰

Hi Kathryn! Thanks so much for commenting here! I'm delighted that you're using this cast-on - it's so good. Great to hear from you - keep in touch. Hugs, Liat

Huge difference in casting on!!! It took me 2.5 hours to cast on 270 stitches normally. This new method took 30 minutes for 270 stitches!!

Love your tutorials, Liat! I like that you show the difference between twisted (incorrect) and untwisted (correct) positions. Thank you!

Liat Welcome back. I have missed your tutorials so much. I always look out for your videos, but I always find the told blogs. I love them. Keep them coming. Thank you. Also, there is a cast on that I love, my Grandmother's cast on. Can you teach us how to make this cast on without the long tail?

Hi there, thank you so much for the tip about My Grandmother's Cast-On! I had never heard of it. I have added it to my list of videos to make. It looks fabulous!

I just learned that one can swap out "youtube" with “mirrorthevideo”, so I was able to understand this cast-on left-handed!

Do you have a version where a person can use their right hand to hold the crochet hook? I am a crocheter and I knit with my right hand holding the yarn.
@Knitfreedom2 жыл бұрын
Hi Nathalie, I'm sorry, I don't have a right-handed crochet version of this technique. If you are comfortable holding yarn in your right hand, I would try the regular knitting-needle version of the Chinese Waitress Cast-On: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnKUfoV_nrasb6s

What do I do with the last loop on the crochet hook?
@Knitfreedom3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cassaundra, Great question. You just turn and twist and put it on the knitting needle-like the previous stitches.
@marcella2mm1602 жыл бұрын
Or you can just crochet it- pull the working yarn through the loop (like a chain stitch) and put that resulting loop back on the needle. Looks really nice.
