You've actually missed a major theme of the drama. Rose lives her best Life now. She lives perpetually for the now. the only reason she doesn't secure a future with the pilot, is as she obviously states. there is very little to base things on now, and so many nows of the future could change their circumstances. But this does not exclude her from being with him in the future. rose has always chosen herself. even when she chose others, even when she chose poorly, she still chose herself.

So, now shes 40, then the rest charaters who heve been in the story since the beginning must all be close to or in their 50s, and yet still after all this time their fashion and hair styles havent changed with the times and none of them seemed to have aged at all, except for her daughter😃 come on now make up and costume department, surely you can do bit better in this department, so its a little believable.

Rose became alone and with her daughter . Ex- husband did not abandon her she does not want to reconcile with ex husband . She had four relationships that she abandon when she is not happy with them except the the Bf the BF broke up with her because he is dying but this is where Rose felt love but unfortunately the BF does not live long .The forth guy it was just in the story .The book where it was adapted Rose had only 3 relationships.She was alone. at 40 .

Muy de acuerdo contigo, tampoco me gustó su papel, no sé si por la diferencia cultural, pero no estuve de acuerdo con muchas cosas que ella permitió y cedió, o las cosas de las que se quejó y que son un compromiso tácito al compartir la vida con otro, tampoco me gustó que usara su matrimonio para desalentar a su exnovio, eso no se hace. Desde su divorcio ya pensé en que decidiría quedar sola y vivir su vida dispuesta a tomar oportunidades que surgieran en el camino. Rosa quería lo mismo que su primer novio, cumplir sus objetivos con alguien que la siguiera, pero ninguno cumplió sus expectativas. Un espíritu libre no puede ser enjaulado.

So her and her ex reminded cordial with each other for their daughter in order to co-parent honestly she put up a lot with that relationship and she was always trying to make him feel better about himself from if you think about it from where they started I bet you she regretted moving in with him and the thing was he let his mom and his ego take a lot of part in that relationship and mess it up otherwise he would have been happy. What happened to the relationship between her and her first steps because when she was going through the breakup with her husband who she had the daughter with she was seen cuz I saw her kissing when he was holding the daughter the guy that she dated that went to Paris what happened with their relationship and then all of course there was a guy that died which I didn't understand how he came in the picture because I thought she was going to get back with the guy with the glasses so she just ended up by herself raising her daughter

Often now, I don't feel bad about not being able to rely on a man for my happiness anymore, I feel power and freedom, because I can live my life knowing me myself is enough. I'm also Chinese, so I can understand the ending, and how it's not sad but the start of a new journey. A new journey not scripted by social expectations and standards, but a journey that belongs to you only, for yourself to make.
