Gomteshwara Express is an Express train belonging to South Western Railway zone of Indian Railways that run between Yesvantpur Junction and Mangalore Junction in India. The name of the train is derived from the Gommateshwara statue which is a 57-foot (17 m) high monolithic statue located on Vindyagiri at Shravanbelagola in the Indian state of Karnataka. This train is also called "Kudla Express''.
This train was inaugurated on 9 April 2017, From Mangaluru Junction flagged off by Suresh Prabhu (Former Minister of Railways) for Direct Connectivity between Mangalore and Bangalore via Shravanbelagola and the ghat section of Karnataka.
The frequency of this train is tri-weekly and it covers the distance of 357 km with an average speed of 39 km/h.
This train passes through Chikkabanavara, Kunigal, Shravanabelagola, Hassan Junction and Sakleshpur on both sides.
As the route is not electrified so KJM WDP-4D pulls the train to its destination.
Mangaluru Junction railway station, formerly Kankanadi railway station (station code: MAJN) is a gateway to the port city of Mangaluru located at Darbar Hill, Padil, Mangaluru, 575007, coming under the Palakkad Division of Southern Railway. The station is a junction interconnecting Mangalore Central railway station with Kerala in the south, Maharashtra/Goa and Mangalore Sea Port in the north and Bengaluru-Chennai in the east. It is the busiest railway junction in the area, as all north- and southbound trains touch Mangalore through this station.
It was formerly called Kankanadi railway station when the city railway station was simply called Mangalore railway station. Later both were renamed as Mangalore Junction and Mangalore Central respectively to avoid confusion.
This is the first station in the Southern Railway zone after the Konkan Railway zone which ends at Thokur, the previous station up north. The railways wish to develop Mangalore Junction to a world-class station on the 60 acres of land, owned by the railways, that adjoins the station.
The railway station has the daily connectivity to important cities of India like - Mumbai, Kochi, New Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram .
Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express connect with Hazrat Nizamuddin railway station in New Delhi along with other trains like Mangala Lakshadweep Express, Kerala Sampark Kranti Express.

Yesvantpur Junction railway station also Yeshwanthapura Junction railway station (station code: YPR) is one of the three important stations which serves the city of Bangalore which is located in Yesvantpur locality. It is one of the developing stations of Bangalore created for reducing the rush at Bangalore City railway station.
This station is located on the Bangalore-Pune & Bangalore-Hyderabad main lines. Being a main location, all trains bound towards Hubli & Hyderabad either originate from here or the ones from Bangalore City have a stop at this station. Direct trains to major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Indore, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ajmer, Jaipur, Ayodhya, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Howrah, Chennai, Trivandrum, Kannur,Kozhikode, Tumakuru, Ahmedabad, Pondicherry etc. also originate from Yeshwantpur.
Shiradi is a village on the Mangalore to Bangalore section of National Highway 75 (Old NH 48). The village is situated in Puttur taluk of Dakshina Kannada district. The nearest town is Nelliyadi which is at a distance of approximately 15 km. The ghat section of Western ghats through which NH 75 passes is called Shiradi Ghat.
Sakleshpur, Sakleshpura or Sakleshapura is a hill station town and headquarters of Sakleshpur taluk in Hassan district in the Indian state of Karnataka.
The Western Ghats mountains extend along the western edge of the taluk, separating Sakleshpur from Dakshina Kannada district. The rest of the district lies on the Deccan Plateau. The Hemavathi River, a tributary of the Kaveri, drains the eastern portion of the town, originating in Chikkamagaluru district and flowing through Sakleshpur town.
Subramanya is a village located in Kadaba Taluk in Dakshina Kannada, India. The Kukke Subrahmanya Temple is located here. It is about 105 kilometres (65 mi) from Mangalore, connected by train and road. It was originally named "Kukke Pattana".
