This movie made me so emotional because of my personal story. I was friend with this guy for over 7 years and we gradually realized we loved each other more than just friends. We got together and quickly decided to get married. That was the beginning of my misery. For almost 2 years, I saw his family actively fight for us not to get married because of cultural differences (they wanted him to marry his cousin). I waited, I prayed, I supported him throughout without ever judging his family for their pressure. Unfortunately, I saw that he was unable to make a clear choice as the pressure was getting to him and he constantly made excuses to delay our marriage. I finally chose myself and ended it....unlike Phil, he never fought to get me back and gave up. As painful as it is, I think I made the best decision. No woman should ever feel less and a man who really wants you will fight for you! May God put us on the path of men who put us first and make us their priority. Ameen 🤲🏿

This is a very touching story, I saw myself in the picture, i remember a guy I was seriously in love wit though young and naive but I was in love, he was just an upcoming guy, didn’t av much but I was looking at his bright future, my mum hated him cos he was Igbo and am frm d south, she would insult him and sometimes pour us hot water whenever he comes around to see me, it was really bad and again she never liked him cos she said he doesn’t prostrate to greet her cos we grew up in Lagos, I loved him so much but I lost him to another lady. Pls parents should limit the way they tend to meddle in the affair of their children cos it’s destroys or delay their children’s future. Thanks so much for this great movie

Exactly what the title said it was A Beautiful Love Story. Phil and his mom bond was tight until it became controlling/demanding which she was accustomed to until LOVE came along . Love open up Phil’s eyes as well. You can’t fight TRUE LOVE & what’s meant to be. I like how the film displayed the role of maturity of both women . Showing women that you don’t have to fight/harm one another over a man. We need more films like this. It was Enjoyable to watch from the USofA.

Okay l cried when Yemi gave back the ring, because she was strong and wise enough to walk away from something that wasn’t for her. Btw she is beautiful too❤.. Some parents are just dead ass wrong. I will never believe in forcing your children into something that they clearly do not want because it will always fail. Can we acknowledge the women empowerment in this movie👑👑👑 Emotions flying around but they were able to control it and be civilize enough to have conversations. I really loved that❤ Cece is me and I am her. I’m sorry, I felt her through and through because Phil never made her feel secure enough and protected her which he should’ve done and she wasn’t about to force him to do so. Sometimes in life you have to fight for the one you love and Phil had to learn that the hard way. It is beautiful when you know your worth and love yourself enough to walk away from certain situations that will break you in the future. Both Yemi and CeCe did that. I so much love this movie!....so much to learn 1. Ladies should pls do better, communication is really key...if Cece had at least talked to him after the breakup, maybe Phil would have confronted his mum the way he did and they will be just fine 2. Guys pls don't engage another lady when you're still clearly in love with your ex..it doesn't make sense 3. I really salute Yemi's maturity, she wasn't ready to go into a relationship when the guy is still in love with his ex...it doesn't end well. I think both gender needs to learn this! 4. A mother's love is second to none, but i think mother's should do better also... respect your sons choices and if their is a tangible reason they shouldn't be together, talk to your son about it in love rather than forcing it to the extent of threatening the lady. No wonder my spirit has been asking me to watch this movie for months now. This is actually the story of my life. Exactly everything. I was literally crying watching the movie😢😢😢. Same igbo thing. Same mother and son problem. Same way she threatened me. Same way she abused me when I first met her. Same way he lived with his mum. Same way I told the son not to introduce me yet and he promised his mother was a cool woman. Same way there was another girl in his life that she approved of because they are from the Same place. Like you literally told my life story in this movie but mine is different because I ended it and moved on😢😢. Honestly that love is still there but I can't marry a man who can't control his mum. Some mother's are vile in nature. As children we need to checkmate our parent's.

What a wonderful movie with great plots and casts. The level of maturity displayed between Yemisi and Cece was the peak, Phil's honesty and undying love helped him set his path right back to his true love and made him break the toxic bond between him and his mum. I believe a lot of people can learn from watching this movie, most esp. on how to address Tribal issues at home, toxic parental relationships, and how to respectfully handle relationships like Yemisi did.

A love story with a challenge that's handled differently than the usual. Unche and Inem both play women of great character. I salute their empathy for each other and their thoughtful and honorable maturity. Daniel is the kind of guy that doesn't hit you all at once with his strong charm but before you know it, it has you wrapped in his arms, happily. HIs mother played her part very well, giving all the viewers a lesson. In these times, mom should just be very happy that he loves an African woman (i.e., any African woman at home or in the Diaspora) who is of our indigenous people. Give thanks.

I commend Philip for being honest to his fiancé. He told her the truth that he was still in love with his ex, and the only reason why he proposed to her was because his mother made him do so. What is happening is not only has the mothercreated havoc for the ex she’s also broken the heart of her son and the woman whom she insisted upon him engaging. Mothers you need to stay out of relationships and mind your business.
