Even so tho, that era of popular music became iconic because they were listened to by the soldiers, same way soldiers today probably listen to popular music while in the theater. That said, Fortunate Son is more than just protest.. it's sort of a shout-out to the average guy who gets the short end of the stick 🤷🏼♂️; relevant for soldiers

I live 3 miles from the company that rebuilds chinooks. They are the only one in the world that does that so they’re flying over my house every day. You never get tired of hearing that noise

Grew up in Jacksonville n.c. with all the marine Corp. Bases. Seen these all the time flying over my house and always watched in awe Everytime!! When five or six flew by together the ground would vibrate!!! Thanks to all who have served and that are serving !!!!

Looks Canadian. If you show any sort of visible interest in them when they fly by they will do a couple circles to show off, I love it. Look like you’re taking photos, depending on the person in charge they’ll hover over you for a good one. Got an awesome one a couple weeks back now.

My dad flew one of those in 'nam. Rescued his buddies multiple times from sticky situations. He is the one that inspired me to join the airforce. I miss him everyday.

I used to forecast the weather in the Air Force and was assigned to an army post for 5 years. I did avaiation weather forecasts and briefs primarily for Chinooks, Blackhawks, and Apaches. I heard them so much that I could identify which one was flying by, simply through the differences in the sound of their engines. Love those Airframes. ❤

That’s a beautiful sound. My father was a CH-47 pilot in Vietnam. My mom told me, when they all flew out, the wives would count the number of choppers leaving. When they came home, they counted the numbers returning. If there was a discrepancy, they braced themselves to receive bad news 😢

I remember the first time I saw a Chinook I had just got home from school and I heard a loud rumbling from a helicopter and I said to myself "that is not no ordinary helicopter" I went outside and as I did The Chinook flew by. It was one of the most beautiful machines I had ever seen at that moment, the sound it made and how it shook the ground it was incredible.

Ya, growing up we had a couple commercial hueys that would fly around. My dad would cuss them out cause he was sure they were going to crack windows, dishes would be jumping in the cupboard! I don't even think they're legal to run commercial anymore... Too bad kids will never hear those sounds that were part of our childhood.

Wonderful craft. When I was young I saw two RAAF Chinooks do a "mating dance" at Richmond air base near Sydney Australia. To complete the performance a small gyro copter was deployed from the lower machines tailgate. I will never forget it!

Not uncommon for helis to practice below tree level follow the river ops. Besides this was most likely an MOA which means they have no minimum distance rules to follow. Great video and awesome flyby.

@@Nova-dl2pl if you watch the video to the end you can see the rotor wash on the water. Interesting fact the rotor wash is delayed due to the speed of the aircraft the fast the aircraft the further behind the rotor wash appears which makes for some Cool pictures

Had a chinook pass over me and a friend up by french cabin creek,central cascades and it flashed this light.instantly all the colors left our site except for brown,we couldn't stand.we crawled from tree to tree back to our truck.couldn't stand to get in.no cell service,no one around.about 45 minutes later we felt better,colors came back,we could stand.don't know what they were testing but it kicked our butts.sidenote.my 100 lb akita was not affected

this happened to me at norfolk lake in arkansas, a UH-60 "BlackHawk" came around too the cove our dock was, we were out on the boat, at the mouth of the cove. it was maybe 15 feet off the water. my mum was recording, but it only recorded immediately after the helicopter wasn't in vicinity. we think it blocked her phone.
