chip did a fire in the booth before bugzy. he spat for a bit, and then called out pretty much the whole grime scene. you will hear some of his talking as the sample in “relegation riddim” by bugzy malone in the next song in the order.

He was clapping back at Tinie Tempah, definitely, who had previously thrown indirects Chip's way in his FitB. People like Big Narstie got their back up, then, predominantly for Chip's comments towards Tinie and Chip's hypocrisy in his eyes, which was due to Chip moving into the commercial realm, whereas he stayed underground or 'urban' as he described it himself. Obviously Chip invited a lot of the heat, too. Seems a lot of the commentary was based on the fact Chip had moved to a label, and people like Bugzy remained independent? Did Narstie have his own label? And was Bugzy not signed to that?

The below is the best breakdown I've seen of the entire event up to Chip's The End. It shows that it wasn't just Chip v Bugzy. Without this context, Chip's responses in this early stage don't make sense. He claps back properly at Bugzy in Light Work. Up to that point it wasn't a proper back and forth. "January 2014: Tinie Tempah Fire In the Booth, Indirects at Chip. Tinie dismisses rappers that haven’t experienced his level of commercial success and a ‘Pizza Boy‘ reference that Chip took to be directed at him. When Tinie dropped this there was little controversy surrounding the Fire In The Booth, however what followed made this freestyle that extra bit more important. January 2014: Fire In The Booth - Chip (Part 2). Disses and Indirects throughout, in the break between rapping Chip sends for Tinie Tempah and breaks down why he’s mad. Twitter went into an uproar with notable industry heads such as DJ Cameo, Devilman and Saskilla all airing their opinions on Chip and the issue. 25th January 2015: Tinie Tempah allegedy Responds, could be a reach. Saskilla Responds to Chips Fire in the Booth 30th January 2015: Big Narstie Responds to what Chip said in his Fire in the Booth. Like Saskilla, Narstie took issue with Chip thinking he could come back to grime after so long and act as if he hadn’t left it behind to go "pop" 14th March 2015: Bugzy Malone Fire in the Booth. Considering Chip had invited people to come at him back in his Fire In The Booth, it was perhaps a surprise that it took two months before somebody took him up on the offer. Bugzy Malone goes in on the second half of the Fire In The Booth, being the third MC to comment on past situations with labels and creative direction. 20th March 2015: Chip - Pepper Riddim, with shots directed at Bugzy, Saskilla, Narstie, DJ Cameo and others. Jammer and Shizz feature in the video, and are dragged into proceedings as a result. 22nd March 2015: Big Narstie does an Uncle Pain episode to respond to Pepper Riddim. 25th March 2015: Devilman - Chipmunk Reply. Devilman was the first MC to reply on a track over the weekend. A series of tweets between Shizz and Saskilla forced him to enter the madness with a reply. 3rd April 2015: Chip - The End. With everyone coming at Chip, he attempts to end it by doing what he done on Pepper Riddim and going at multiple people in one track. 7th April 2015: Bugzy Malone - The Revival. when Chip spits "chip don't run out of bars, Chip never runs out of bars" thats like his signature bar he's used since the dawn of his career. This isn't something Chip only did, it was very common for Grime rappers to have a signature bar just like how in USA hip hop it's very common to have Rapper with signature ad-libs. everyone did it before 2010 and since then that trait has faded away in the culture.

Bit of a lengthy one but dot rotten - spitfire he goes in crazy for like 7 minutes straight, he had a famous beef against P money dot rotten produced for most of the UK scene under the name Zeph Ellis he doesn't rap anymore but I believe he still produces was one of the best to ever do grime 🔥

Am with you on this track in particular, that 'Chip don't run out of bars' refrain was pure filler for way too long. Chip is top tier battle rapper, Flowers was the takedown of the century, but he got flaws too
