I met Chip on the set one day. I used to put electronic hand controls in sports cars so Para's could drive a manual trans. He didn't know who I was but he took the time to sit next to me over lunch and just say hey, how are you and we had a short chat about what I do. What a great guy. He invented the word Genuine. I have two hero's in the custom car business. Chip # 1 and Steve Moal a close 2nd. They are both in a class all their own.

I made it a point to meet him when I was 19 at the height of overhauling but I knew of him before all of that. He stayed way over the time he was supposed to leave to make sure every fan got a five minute talk with him. Awesome guy.

Chip foose has surpassed all the other car builders and has been working on honing his craft for the longest time. I wanted to have Overhauling steal my car for the chance to own a showpiece to enjoy for the rest of my life. But it's not easy to be chosen thankfully we still get to see the reruns and enjoy the builds. Nothing but classy beautiful cars getting rewarded with a big unique difference from the cookie cutter cars they started life as. That's what I thought was the best part of that show.

thank you for giving Boyd a shout-out. I grew up and was waited in my living room the day they switched mtv on to the TV waves and grew up loving the Eliminator. our neighbor had a very rare all metal '33 Chevy, 600+ cube sprint car engine tubbed and I used to watch him do hole shots up the street and blow universal out like shrapnel. I watched Chezoom and followed Boyd until his passing. some of the greatest shops now, such as yourself have come through the doors of Coddingtons and earned where they are like you have. sadly I don't hear many people even mention him. I think he was the father of what we call restomods not pro-touring, restomods. now my other hero and his glass ceiling shattering Chicayne was after Boyds but I consider that the start of pro-touring. your career speaks for itself one of the top car builders in history but who do you consider the father of the restomod genre. youre a true legend Mr. Foose. thank you for giving us so many incredible things to enjoy. cheers
