I used to do barrel racing, just like you showed at the end. wow!! that brought back memories of me and my horse, Dixie, in so many fun western style horse shows. She was such a beautiful Palomino. My dogs would run alongside of us, on trails. great memories! and i loved your little clip at the very end, the bible verse.

Nice mom and pop joint, a lot of food for a very reasonable price. David's plate did look excellent, plenty of onion rings i know that put a smile on his face.Carly went kind of light ,when i was a kid i always went a little hungry when we went to an event like a ball.game or the movies because we always had to get something like a hot dog or popcorn! . Cindy your hamburger looked delicious and that don't short change on the size.These small family owned places get overlooked at.times. Thanks for another great trip and God Bless 🙏

This is a wonderful mom and pop joint. You are correct about all our meals being delicious. You can't beat the food or prices here. Carly loves eggs and toast so this was perfect for her. The owner also owns an Italian restaurant in the Salem area. So we definitely will have to try that out too.

Tasty comfort food! I'm all about that, especially during the winter. I recall before Christmas you three said several times that you wanted some snow. It makes you hungry for hot, hearty food, doesn't it? Northern Michigan is still cold and snowing, as it has been every day since Thanksgiving. With the lake effect snow from Lake Michigan, it's particularly brutal this week, and we're expecting sub-zero temperatures later this week. Does Miss Carly understand what "lake effect snow" is, and how the Great Lakes are actually in-land seas, capable of creating their own weather patterns? Fascinating stuff. Have fun and take good care! 💜

We are full-time RVers and we stayed in Salem near the Civic center in October. Chip and Jo's was very close to there. We went twice that week. Love a good diner! You need to check out the pinball and video game museum in Roanoke!

The reason we came across Chip & Jo's was because of the proximity to the civic center. We always like to eat before we go to the rodeo. I can see why you went twice in one week. I seriously enjoyed this one! I was having a great day to begin with, You guys made it better! Several comments... For reasons I'll share later, I hope David added his autograph to that tribute to First Responders. Second, that menu... How many restaurants was that for? There was enough variety and choices on it to cover two, maybe three restaurants! OK,,,, As for the food, I've never been much for having breakfast food except for at breakfast. But, I wonder about Carly's toast. Was she served "Texas Toast"? Or, was it regular "white toast"? If she were served the latter, that might explain the sogginess. Especially if it was topped with "spread" instead of real butter. (Spend time on a farm and you learn the difference!) For the meals, I'd be seriously torn between Team Cindy and Team David, Cindy's burger looked great. I have to admit that I would've been tempted to ask for a dollop of 1000 Island dressing on it and see how close it would've come to the much-missed "Mighty Mo" hamburger of the still-missed "Hot Shoppes" restaurant chain that sired what is today the "Marriott Corporation". Finally, I salute your focus on the "Mom & Pop" local businesses, Not only are you supporting them, but consider the jobs and ultimately careers they create and sustain! Even better than your usual review videos. God Bless!

Thanks for watching! We were very impressed with the menu choices! Carly had regular white toast and David had Texas toast. This diner was very impressive. All of the food was delicious. That burger was seriously delicious. You know David loved that chopped steak. Carly was finished with those eggs quickly. But she didn't want any additional eggs. Such a great experience.

I love how Carly’s friend, when she was done talking, gently pushed the mic over to Carly. lol. the onion rings did look good and light, not heavily breaded. Now… about your friend’s shirt.. i couldnt make out all the words, but it said something about a mountain. so i cracked open the old bible and went to Matthew 17:20, like it said on her shirt.. I wanted to read what led up to that verse… it was about Jesus casting out evil from a young boy. “afterward, the disciples asked Jesus privately, “why couldnt we cast out that demon?” (chapter 20 said) “you didnt have enough faith. I assure you, even if you had faith, as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, “move from here to there” and it would move. nothing would be impossible”. 😊. Im not as in-tune to my bible as i should be so this gave me a reason to look it up. Let her know that it motivated me to not only read it but to SHARE IT WITH YOU ALL. ❤

You can order fries or onion rings if you want, which of course you could have done at home too. We liked the restaurant but that is completely up to you if it is something that you are interested in.
