@@amematoi Mario Bros is first party. They're talking about third party developers getting the rights to make games for a property owned by someone else. Like Insomniac making a deal with Marvel to make Spider-Man games for a certain amount of years. RARE is an example of a second party developer getting the rights to do Donkey Kong for Nintendo, a first party dev.

Dear GOD this brings back memories. This was my second EVER video game back when the NES came out. I was pretty little back then and I never quite beat the game but I can remember all of this music like it were yesterday.

That's a crazy length for an 8-bit theme to run without looping. Nearly a minute of unbroken music, especially when you consider the memory limits of games back then, most of the storage space went to sound files.
