I used to really want the Sonic Movies to be more like the games but I’ve come to appreciate the Movies more and more as time goes on. It gave/gives us a new original side of Sonic that we’d never seen in Canon along with a unique origin and cool retelling of the games’ plots, all while being entertaining for both kids and fans. I think they went with the right choice for giving us what we got.

They both talked about this near the middle and I have to admit I'm one of the people they were talking about where I fell off liking sonic, despite it being a longterm childhood interest of mine, and felt it was too "embarassing" to ever engage with in earnest however when I stumbled across the fandubs I started to look up characters I didn't recognise and went down the rabbit hole until it became a genuine interest in me again! I really appreciate that they were an avenue for me to overcome this block I had on my brain were I wouldn't let myself enjoy things _too much_ without holding back so I wasn't embarassing and now I send my friends Sonic facts and they're like "Wait no way that that's actually canon wtf??" it's the best.

Fun fact: the intro animation was originally mastered in 16:9, as seen here in the Wii-PS2 version. The wider, more cinematic aspect ratio seen in the PS3-X360 version is cropped down from it. Thus, you either can see the full frame of it or you can see it in HD, but not both! The "ingame" cutscenes are a similar story, as whatever they were recorded from was _not_ a normal PS3 or Xbox 360, as the framerate issues don't seem present in the recordings.

The PS2 version is the one I grew up with and it still was one of my favorite Sonic games. The daytime stages were hard for me but were so rewarding to go back and master. Even the Werehog as basic as the combat was had some really fun platforming levels to speed through. Genuinely thank you for playing this version ❤

See, Sonic Unleashed for PS2 was my childhood and intro to Sonic but my experience between that and the demo for the 360 version was reversed from yours. I played the 360 demo at a Walmart then purchased the PS2 version only to be like “huh. This doesn’t look like the one I played at Walmart” when I got home. Still loved it tho because I had no standards for video games back then either XD
