@@xornedge8204 Haven't really noticed any bottlenecking.. the 1080 TI would be bottlenecked by almost any CPU at the time I bought it at the price range I wanted for my computer. As for Tarkov, the game is so poorly optimized I imagine you can literally throw money at it without getting anything in return. I see streamers with their new 3XXX-gen Nvidia cards barely pushing 100 FPS in tarkov.

Not only tarkov tho, most games gives you more fps depending on how great your cpu or gpu is. If it's gpu that better, then all settings that eats vram should be set on high, if cpu is much better and you have bad gpu then all settings to low. If both are equal, then you need to test it and pick options that gives you most fps, basically something medium

Save Nobody so I changed everything and I got an increase from 60-80 FPS on reserve to 80 -120 FPS.... he did say that if you change the shadow quality to low it will hit your FPS but I saw like a 5-8 FPS increase when changing it to low 🤔. Idk but other then that everything worked.

I was getting decent FPS but was having major issues with a lot of micro-stutters and this has definitely reduced them and increased my fps as well. Overall game is running much more smooth. It doesn't look like my G-SYNC is working (G-SYNC indicator will not turn on) so I am thinking this is most likely due to the custom resolution but overall the game is running much better.

the vsync is just to force the game to run at your monitor HZ and not 60, otherwise vsync will not do anything with a custom res.

Leaving FPS uncapped increases your input delay. Once you find your average FPS, set your graphics drive FPS cap to whatever your low average is with minus about 5 fps. Running 144fps in-menu is fine, but in game I doubt you can cap out at 144 with that setup anyway.

I know the config file says 60hz but the monitor is running at 144hz...without adjusting anything. If I set 60hz via windows settings, it will be 60 in game as well then I can see screen tearing easily. High texture settings need at least 6GB of Vram. Medium actually almost maxes out 4GB cards on 1080p. For me, the difference between low and high shadows is like 2 fps and I'm GPU bound. Ultra is like 10fps slower. Any kind of anisotropic filtering gets me 10% lower fps, while in other games the difference is zero. This probably applies to anyone else unless you have a faster card than RX590 / GTX 1070. Clarity in postfx will also reduce performance by 5-10%, while luma and adaptive sharpen have no performance cost. Low texture filtering quality in nvidia settings will make textures mushy, and between performance and high quality there is only literally 1 maybe 2 fps difference. Same for AMD.

It really depends on your hardware (even software). And sometimes luck. Due to how badly unity runs. The engine has issues and no matter what you will do with your pc, settings, the engine just isn't that good. You might get a nice server, game runs smooth as butter, high fps, almost no stutters, and next raid, same settings, same map, same gear, and it will be stutter party. Servers, engine, client, it's utterly broken and so inconsistent. You kinda have to try, and when you find the settings that make the game as "stable" as possible. Keep those. 2 computers with same hardware, same settings, will run the game differently. Unity... Not much we can do.

hey mate, don't worry about the custom Res anymore with one less pixel. Just use full screen now, the refresh rate works just by uncapping it via NVIDIA control panel turning vsync on in game.

GaBoX17 DA amd freesync and i did every single thing he said except the shader cache. All i know is i went from 70-80 to 100 plus. I hadnt hit 120 fps in this game at all until i did this. Also. Ill say its very ram dependent. If you have less than 16gb of ram your gonna be struggling. Ideally you want 32 cus then tarkov will give you the full deal. It says 16gb minimum but ive seen it use up to 20.

I didn't realise how much the postfx fucked over my performance. I thought they fucked something up with one of the technical updates since the postfx didn't massively reduce my performance when it was first added but the past few weeks my fps was almost cut in half and I had no idea why. Between your vid and lowisisback's reddit post my fps went from 40 average on reserve to my cap of 60. Thanks, mate.

Did they fix the monitor refresh rate issue? If I turn on gsync and enable my monitor refresh rate to appear on screen in my monitor settings, it behaves as expected and syncs with the FPS and is above 60 on 1440p.

TheLordFroggy you should honestly do them. My game would get 90 frames at best with the in-game settings. After following all the out of game settings, I get up to 120 and don’t dip below 80 unless in extremes. Obviously each rig is different, but I highly recommend it.

Nick for me it made the game feel smoother and more responsive. To be fair this was before all the packet encryption they added and a bunch of updates. My game has gotten noticeably worse since I made this comment.

I have been getting 165hz in EFT without doing a custom resolution. Just had to enable Vsync to uncap the framerate from the games 60fps (menu) and 120fps (in-game) framerate caps. Just enabling Vsync uncaps the framerates and allows my monitor to achieve the 165hz refresh rate. No need for custom resolutions. I'm running at 2560x1440 with G-sync. Been doing this since before the current wipe and it's worked just fine.

This changed my life on Tarkov, but every other game became stuck in windowed mode and it frequently capped my FPS on other games, usually at 30 or 60. When I tried to revert back to 1920x1080 it made the screen look all flushed out despite only the resolution changing. Anyone else have this?

I have a lower end computer, and this didn't really do anything, until i set Texture Model to low. That boosted me 10-20 fps, with all the other settings in the video. If anyone is thinking this isn't working, try that :)

You can fix the 144hz problem by going to the local ini inside the tarkov file. Change the hz and set the file as read only. Problem solved without the need for a third party system.

no fps gains on my end with these optimizations but the refresh rate fix definately works. 144hz is working fine now instead of feeling like 60-90hz fps is still fluctuating from 60-115ish constantly. gpu still never goes over 60% and cpu never goes above 30% utilization.

From my observations, EFT can only utilize a certain amount of cores. What could be the case here is that EFT only uses 4 of your cores to their fullest, which means total CPU usage won't hit 100%. This still means your CPU is the bottleneck. You can check performance monitor and see what the load is like on the individual cores. My guess would be 4 cores that are maxed out, and the rest somewhat idle (depending on what background processes you have running meanwhile playing EFT)

There are some great videos on YT that explain g sync and freesync with low latency mode. It is a fact that capping frames with RTSS provides lower latency than using low latency modes on nvidia and amd.

The issue that i'm experiencing are stutters. only minor stutters like 2-3 seconds. Bust sometimes i get stutters that last up to 13-14 seconds, and i get roughly 20-25 per raid, give or take. And depending on the map i choose that seems to effect my problem. Factory for example, i experience little to no stutters. But maps like Shoreline, Woods, or Reserve that are some of my favourite maps i get these "worse / longer" stutters quite frequent. I got my computer march last year, just over a year old. I clean it out once every 3-4 months. I'm not sure as to why this is happening to me. Some of my specs - - GTX 1660Ti - Intel i5 9400f - 8gb DDR 4 ram

@@sain1428 that's why the same looks blurry.. push that to 3.0. restart the game. before you restart, find the Local.ini file for EFT via documents and make sure Bloom is turned off "0". Everytime you change settings it turns this back on and you can't turn it off in game.

I've followed both your guide and the reddit post, however, I stil have my in-game showing a 60 fps limit. In tarkov the setting is set to 120 which is reflected in the ini file too. It shows the fps going from 80-110 but the limit states 60.

that's fine mate, the limit might still say 60 but as long as the FPS goes above 60 it's working. :)

I'm getting wierd flickering after applying these changes, any idea as to what could be causing it? It's like a small brightness increase for a single frame, really wierd and distracting.

not sure man, sounds like a refresh rate issue, try revert the refresh rate fix and keep the other settings.

@@ChippaWubba Found out that it was caused by the freesync on my aorus monitor ^^ It's mostly evident in the stash when scrolling, unfortunately there isn't a known fix for it since the error is unique to Tarkov.

Yes, but you don't need to do the custom screen res anymore, just use default.

amd 1600x rtx 2060 here. I went from struggling to get over 50 fps to getting 80+ consistently my game feels so smooth and looks amazing thank you.

Hi Chippa, with the new patch 12.10 they made the game FPS limit higher (120 > 144). Would you still recommend using the v-sync fix?

Yes, I would still do it as I still don't think the config file is updating.
