Wattle and daub is a better insulator than brick, would also be very sustainable to make these.

It's wonderful. It has heart and soul. Modern places are convenient for modern living but gosh are they boring - designed for people who just watch TV or are stuck on computers or their mobiles all day or who perhaps don't even spend much time at home. They are 'assets' more than homes - always with an eye to the resale value. However I wouldn't like to have to bear the maintenance costs of this house.
