In this video I made some special tools. The tools were turned from ETD150 and threaded on my CBB Monarch Lathe. Thanks for watching! Get anchorlube here: www.amazon.com...

Adam is living the dream traveling with his wife. They both can do their work remotely. I following him mostly on Facebook. Enjoyed his new shop build. He bought some land with a river running through it.

I appreciate the fact that my viewership tends to be the hardcore machinist types that enjoy the work more than the show. I also understand that Adam makes his living from the show not the work so he does what he needs to and appears to do well at it as he still gets lots of views despite it being much different than the heavy work from motion.

Brian- When metric threads are called out without a pitch, like M16, it is to be cut to the Coarse metric pitch. This is a very standard way to specify metric coarse threads. I worked for Michelin North America, and learned a lot about metric drawings. Good video. ----Doozer

👍👍damn,wish u were closer...got a loca,l backwoods machinist around here,but unless u give him blueprints or something to copy,he gets all pissy and doesn't wanna attempt what im describing... maybe ive gotta do a better job at conveying my ideas...or perhaps i need to buy a lathe or mill and figure out how to run it myself, but that most likely won't happen. lol... thanks for sharing feller,see ya next time 👊

They’re like that all over the place, they want it in writing and God forbid if you write something in feet and inches. My guys up here in northern Ohio always say write it down in my language. Lol. They’ve got me broken in pretty good now, no more napkin drawings, and I bought a Mitutoyo digital caliper so I can actually write stuff down in their language.

If drawing does not specify thread pitch, its then standard pitch. M16 with pitch 2,0 mm

I've never seen an L-shaped thread cutting tool before. Can you buy L-shaped HSS? It certainly has great rigidity against downwards force from the part. On the other hand, at the angle you had it, it seemed to me that the top face had negative rake, which seemed odd.

Why you threading so slowly? You going to stall that lathe.
@bcbloc028 ай бұрын
Because I am slow and opening the feed nut and and backing out at the same time while not crashing into the shoulder of the part at high speeds is beyond my capabilities.
