reason for legendary incriptions to be more than normal, is that they boost the skills damage/ smite,, so u benefit more from faster rage cycle,, so when u lower the output in their skills,, it will lower the rage effect compared to normal counter.

The problem is that no one really looks at field fighting…it’s poke and retreat…poke and retreat…getting rage faster to pop off that first cycle is MASSIVE. You deal damage AND take less damage because your cycle hit whatever marches causing them to deal less when they use theirs. If you sit and hit the same target over a long period of time without moving yes you’ll see the over rage and think it’s wasted but the key is that first cycle imo

A potentially 3 or 4% upgrade to damage across all your marches is actually huge in the context of upgrades in this game. You mentioned its a small thing but it sounds similar to getting an extra legendary inscription on each of your marches or several item upgrades to all marches. Considering it actually costs less for drums that could be a pretty huge benefit in context of how much work it usually takes for that amount of advantage.

Yeah I ran similar testing and found that running drums on liu/Phillip is really good, then adding a 2nd drums to your next lowest damage march is a small further boost, but anything past that is less damage. The biggest issue for the all in drums plan is new players do not start soc with anywhere close to 5 marches so they do not get benefit from drums and telling them to make them is a rough ask.

And if war drums can only obtained in egg event, and you have to wait for weapons cycle, looking at a 2 year project if you ever wanted to iconic tier, special talent on multiple marches. At least horn you can get 2 blueprints in every kvk lol

By this logic I wonder, given the real nature of fighting where you don’t really are skill cycling most of the time, and the vast majority of your hits are basic/normal damage, wouldn’t it make the most sense to put Greatest Glory on all your marches?

I think, the problem with drums is that the game is not distributing the rage fairly over all marches. So some turns one march will get multiple instances of drums and overage. I have no numbers to proof my statement but it can happen that way and make drums less valuable while ring/ horn never gonna have that issue

Remember combo attacks from Subutai (and Arthur for that matter) don't actually generate any rage other than the talents' 9 rage this is only a feature of LC's expertise (yes they changed the wording sometime ago)

I guess technically the war drums can be a superior rage engine... if you use 3 marches with 3 war drums and you get really lucky you can get more rage on a single march. It's a massive investment for something that is worse than the horn of fury 66% of the times, twice as strong 1% of the times and 3 times better 0.1% of the times. You need three marches and three war drums to achieve what is more often than not a downgrade to a single horn of fury.

If there are 3-4 Guan Yu, they will shutdown all kind of strategy, because most commanders having so high active skill damage compare to their normal attack damage. So rage strategy & damage strategy doesn't make any difference. Even when you guys had been screaming about over rage, but remember, that with a full cycle of a skill (7~8s), and first cycle will always be longer. So when do you guys over rage? Turn 1 and Turn 3 when the skill are used, but after that, all of your rage generation wouldn't be at max rate per turn. That's where Horn/Drums can kick in. Due to its randomness, if it occurs at the turn you use skills, you don't earn anything from Horn/Drum, but turn 2, 4-8 would be huge since there is no way you can max rage cap. And when you fight the enemy, if you are not being targeted, your rage build up will be lower, so there is no way you can get over rage, that's where Horn/Drum kicks in.

Umm. Kinda wasnt new actually. Its because of new comms alot of the ppl that knew these items were good finally are getting some love. War drums always been good. Its just it was basically used mainly for one march. Trajan mainly could use it. But ppl are starting to come around. Too many years too late tho

I did not even realize drums was 100 L mats, i thought they were ALL 120. i see Seth call and drums are cheaper The decision on what to make is really only valid for new players, no way older players are going to dismantle 5 rings. The point aside about the risk of AOE silences, my advise to new players would be: 1. Any player who might rally/garrison, still make 5 horns, 5 rings to get a free crit 2. If you want to add in a drums or 2 - not only did you note philip, but on a KA primary march with butterfly is very compelling. Drum's average cycle gets MUCH better with butterfly

First off, that is wrong, if 5 B seeds fight an imperium the imperium with one alliance will win. Secondly, this is not about a kd win, but a personal improvement of stats, that allows ppl to stay longer on the field because of less healing cost (at least in theory and only maybe one hospital at the end of the KvK) but it also can improve personal morale of ppl to stay longer in the field if the trades aren't as bad, which matters at the end of the day to maybe win KvK
