I actually hated Chisiya during Season 1. He was a jerk character to me, who was like other characters stereotypes I hate like Nagito and Kokichi from Danganronpa (I hate the 2 so much]. And the answer is... borderland is an afterlife game. The people who got brought into the game by the meteor that kills them, will be tested by playing the game. If you survived or won until the end, You basically resurrected from the dead(Arisu heart stopped for a minute after the incident). Ofc with memory loss. But the bond player created in the game can lead to Arisu and Usagi ending as you know

MAJOR SPOILER WARNING AHEAD when i first saw chishiya, seeing how he worked, i thought he was a bastard (s1) now that s2 started i started thinking more abt him like when hes gonna show up, making me curious about him, and when we had like a whole ep for him i was excited making him my favorite, noticing how smart he works/strategies. When it was the last ep i was crying my heart out seeing chishiya get hurt/shot, saving usagi, literally the only actor in this whole series that i cried that hard for..Seeing him at the end bleeding was making him think that he was going to die, and when he said decline i thought he said he was going to stay in the fantasy world and started crying so hard that you could fill a whole pool. Seeing him at the end healthy was relieving for me. The sad thing is that nobody remembers anything from the fantasy world, heartbreaking really, they would all be great friends..Wishing they remembered each other, seeing how good they all worked together is Phenomenal! What really scared me was at the end when they were in the real world and a meteor (?) appeared which made me think the all died, but luckily they didn't and almost all survived, which im grateful for!❤😊

Those who died in the game or chose to stay, will be seen die by meteor irl. Meanwhile the main cast survived bc they won the game.
