Since some people slightly misunderstood the story I was trying to convey, here's a (very long hahaha) summary: Chishiya and Niragi slowly enter into a sexual relationship, initiated by Niragi. They have an unspoken understanding about the purely sexual nature of their relationship, and neither tries to take it any further. They don't help each other during the games, and they don't alter their behaviour around each other in everyday life. Every sexual encounter occurs in Niragi's room, and Chishiya always makes sure to leave as soon as they finish. One night, however, Niragi stops him and tucks him into his chest. Unable to find the will and strength to fight him, Chishiya complies. The next morning, Chishiya leaves before Niragi wakes up and all is back to normal. Or so it seems. Their encounters become increasingly heated, and every time Chishiya tries to leave Niragi’s room after a hookup, Niragi embraces him with such strength that he cannot do anything but obey. After a particularly painful, but passionate, night, Chishiya gives up and decides to ask Niragi point-blank what he wants out of their relationship. Completely stunned by Chishiya’s bluntness, Niragi screams at him to leave and never come back. Chishiya leaves as quickly as he can and tries his best to calm the conflicting emotions fighting in his chest. Emotion is weakness, after all. A couple of days later, Chishiya is pulled into a dark room by Niragi. He offers Chishiya the possibility of a relationship, but is by no means apologetic about his earlier behaviour. Chishiya is irritated by this and attempts to leave, only for Niragi to grab his arm and say: ‘Please, I’ve missed you’. After a moment of contemplating Chishiya agrees, to this day not knowing why. He follows Niragi to his room whereafter Niragi makes sexual advances towards him. Chishiya lets him, but not before saying: ‘If you claim to care for me, be careful with me’. A smile forms on Niragi’s lips that is unsettling to Chishiya at first, but he soon realizes that this is Niragi’s way of putting him at ease. In the weeks after that several things change. Niragi proudly waltzes Chishiya around, while openly claiming him as his ‘property’. He leaves sloppy kisses on Chishiya’s lips in front of others and slaps his ass whenever he believes people stare at it for too long. Chishiya lets him, though, realizing that Niragi simply doesn’t know any better. In the privacy of their bedroom, Chishiya tries to care for Niragi as best he can. He finally feels like he’s retrieved some sort of normalcy that he’d deemed impossible only a week ago. A feeling akin to love in a world built to hate. But it took only a single night, for everything to change. Heavily energized by the residue adrenaline from the game, Niragi approaches Chishiya. Chishiya quickly realizes his intentions and tries to stop him as his body still feels weakened from the aforementioned game. Niragi ignores Chishiya’s complaints, and forces himself on him. In a cynical moment during the act, Chishiya thinks to himself: ‘sometimes I can’t tell if my body belongs to me’. After finishing, Niragi mockingly apologizes to Chishiya and tries to hold him again. Chishiya, however, has long since given up on his relationship with Niragi and pushes him away with newfound strength. For a second time in his life, he leaves Niragi’s room as quick as he can. The following events transpire at the same time as the edit: Niragi makes no attempt to recover his relationship with Chishiya, and ensures that every encounter they have is as hateful as he can muster. In an attempt to regain the feeling of autonomy over his own body, Chishiya starts plotting his revenge. He prepares a structured assault, leading to that fateful encounter on the roof. While he watches Niragi’s body burn, Chishiya thinks back to the sight of Niragi hovering above him. The gentle smiles that would sometimes grace Niragi’s lips, the soft look that was reserved only for Chishiya. For a split second, Chishiya can feel himself regretting his decision. This regret, however, is soon overshadowed by his unquenchable desire to win the games and leave the Borderland. The memory of Niragi slowly fades into the darkest of backgrounds. Emotion is weakness, after all.

@@amina___. there are plenty on ao3 archive of our own. Good ones are toxic and the baby I’m not the right one you should wait on series. (3 parts to the series) instead of scrolling though 100+ fics, type in “Chishiya/niragi” NOT “Chishiya & niragi” to narrow it down, find a fic with “Chishiya shuntaro/Niragi suguru” make sure the tag is grey and click it. There should be abt 37 last time I checked (I read all of them lol) and read some of ‘em. The ones I recommended have smut the baby I’m not the right on you should wait on included the following fics titled: choke me like you hate me but you love me, lowkey wanna date me when you f me, touch me with the lights on and the chains on.
