Keys: -A life of ease is the only true luxury. -Easier to manage, low-maintenance beauty regimens are major with a busy lifestyle. -Posting content with where you're at now is always best since it's more relatable and realistic. -Never be defeated, get to work.

We’d never jump you! You are HUMAN first. Of course we missed your content. You were the first beauty influencer I subscribed to years back and I got hooked on all of your other health and lifestyle content. I always found myself circling back to see if there was a new video up. You’re both relatable and inspirational! Even if you take a hiatus, I know I’ll be back! I’m just happy to know you’re okay, learning about yourself, and growing. Thank you for sharing your life with us. I’m in grad school and would love some inspirational/productive school content if that’s something you’d ever consider! Sending love and positivity your way, Kat ❤️

Same here. I was a Bio major... dropped Chem the first time I took it. Barely passed it the second time. I got to Orgo and failed. It took me like 2-3 semesters to boost my GPA back to over 3.0. I changed my major to Health Science to avoid that subject. Graduated with my BS, but thinking of going back for my masters, and I might have to overcome my fear of Chemistry.

Society has brainwashed us into believing that we need to be on certain timeline in order to be successful. I'm happy that you are finding yourself, and striving to reach your goal. I am actually in a similar boat as you. I wanted to be a nurse or a doctor growing up. I took classes to steer me that way since High School... started taking all of the pre-reqs for nursing. Then, professors and other people around me started telling me that they see me more as a doctor. That boosted my ego, so I started taking courses in that direction instead of Nursing. Chemistry and Org. Chemistry almost took me out, literally 2x. I spent the rest of my schooling trying to boost my damaged GPA and avoid that subject. Transferred to a different school, and graduated with a BS in Health Sciences while pregnant. Got into a Nursing program, did 2 semesters, then Covid hit. Finishing school has now been put on the back burner after my daughter started Kindergarten. I am now in limbo trying to decide, back to Nursing, working on Chemistry to become a doctor, or get my masters in another health related field. I currently work in healthcare, and make somewhat decent money, but it's not enough or where I wanted to be. I think now is the time for you to continue with education. I would say take advantage of it while you are still young, and without kids. Not saying that we can't do it with them, but it' becomes more difficult, and a lot of us end up putting our careers on hold forever for our kids. I know many women who have, so you just do you. Good luck on your future endeavors, and I look forward to hearing your journey in the end.

I loved this video! I just turned 30 this year and I decided to go back to school for nursing. My mother tried to convince me to go to nursing school since I graduated high school, but I never wanted to go to nursing school until after she passed away. My little brother also passed away shortly after my mom, and I understand what you mean about living your life especially knowing that your brother didn’t. I was very “ashamed” or embarrassed to be enrolling in school in my 30s but I’m so glad that I made the decision to. This video was very motivating and I wish you well on your journey!

First Kat, you know I love your chit chats that’s a no brainer. I always have! I admire you so much and identify with you a lot. Especially with school and life. For several reason I don’t have my degree yet and I was working on getting my degree in business but I really didn’t feel passionate about it. I only wanted the degree to start the business. Since I already stated and it was doing well the degree felt useless and I lost focus. I felt the same way as you; because the people I was working with have business degrees and psychology degree making the same money I was without one.. So I didn’t see where it could help me. I didn’t like the job I was at and sure as heck didn’t want a degree that’s couldn’t get me out of it. Like you I always wanted more for myself or just to feel like what I was doing should be making a difference. I did good in school and I could always see myself doing something more scientific or mathematical. So I’m now finishing up my pre reqs for ultrasound technology and I hope to enroll in program next year. In the future I plan to work part time as a tech and work my business because I like the freedom. Listening to you let me know I’m not alone in how I feel, being able to change your mind and it’s never too late to go back to do what you want and better your future.

Glad to see that you are back in school! I can definitely relate to being in school much longer than planned. This year a lot of people I start college with is now graduating and I am only 89% done because of switching my major AND failing classes. It does get alittle discouraging because I have that feel “that should have been me” but I’m learning to stop comparing myself and just being happy with the decision I made and the path I took. But we definitely missed you boo I love these kind of videos and also vlogs💗🫶🏾💐

I got married young, and literally the one thing ppl have said for the past 4 years of our marriage is that we’re either pregnant or need to get pregnant. My husband and I decided against because we needed to learn each other and how to co exist in the same environment. I know people that have had kids right after getting married and are struggling in their marriage because parenthood took over. The BEST piece of advice I can give newlyweds are to wait before having Children. Learn your new role and solidify that.

I had a similar school journey. I was originally pre-pharm and I believe it was organic bio that truly took me out of the running, I never had failed a class like that in my life lol and I switched majors and long story short I graduated with a business degree, specifically Advertising and I hate it. I have a job in my field that I have no passion for and look at other jobs as well and everything sounds so unattractive the work, the salary and I’m looking into going back to school to go into the medical field like I should have stuck out with in the first place. So congratulations to you for looking into yourself and actually making the necessary steps to produce that change you want to see. Because I was just “thinking” about it lol. The very thought of going back to school is soul crushing lol but like you said how we plan today sets us up for our tomorrow. And Tomorrow has to be better lol it just has too.

Hey girl. I just wanna start off by saying I love you and your videos. I been following you for years. I am also from Memphis and that’s one of the many reasons why I felt so connected to you. I thought it was so cool to have a KZbinr in my city that Young,beautiful, thriving and just living life. Not only that I also attend the university of Memphis and I actually think we take the same class this summer lol (biomedical ethics). I wanted to slide up on your insta story so many times but I was being shy lol. So it’s safe to say you are just one of my fav KZbinrs I love the content you create and just love how you carry yourself. I really enjoyed the video a lot of the things you mention I to am working on. I graduate this December so I’m trying to figure out what I want to career wise and just with my life in general. I know eventually I’ll go back to school. I was originally just thinking about a masters but I’m going to look into the idea of maybe getting a second bachelors that’s kind of similar to the one I have now with is health studies/health science.

Hey Kariton! Thanks so much for tuning in and for your kind words! Don’t worry about feeling shy, I’d love to connect! Maybe we can grab a coffee in the fall when we’re both on campus! But definitely keep your options open when it comes to determining your next steps career/school-wise. The possibilities are truly endless.

Love that you’re back! And I feel you on the going back to school bit. I’m honestly contemplating on doing the same because I feel super stuck where I am now. And the only way to advance is to go back to school. I’m super intimidated because idk how I’m gonna do that and have a full time job but I know that I need to at least try.

When you go for another bachelors degree do you have to take the full 120+ credit hours like the first degree?
@KathrynBedell
@KathrynBedell 2 жыл бұрын
Nope! My credits from my first degree rolled over, so I only have about 9-10 classes to take, and I’ll have a whole 2nd degree! So I only have to do about 1-1.5 years of schooling, which is awesome! But I’m not sure how it would be for other students at other institutions.

I hope this doesn’t fall on def ears (respectfully). I just love your content! I understand breaks bc they’re definitely necessary but you’re always super relatable and I can agree with the ‘not mentally being involved with school and it feeling like a waste of time (AT THAT TIME)’. Super proud of you sis! You were definitely missed.

Mrs Kathryn...I have been a long time fan, I'm talking since you been a thing miss lady. You and I are around the same age and I too have struggled with ALOT of the same topics that you discuss after you come back a small hiatus... Long story short. Don't be afraid to be SELFISH! YES! I said it, be selfish. Everything around you is a bonus to your happiness; the key thing is, even you said it, is happiness starts within... Friends, family, KZbin supporters, your husband, if we rocking with you. I mean truly rocking with you. We're going to be here by your aide regardless. How dare I unsubscribe or feel a way because your growing, changing and constantly adjusting to LIFE. PSA‼️ This is for everyone, possibly reading this. Focusing on you is a job until you leave this God given Earth. Quick example, your health & wellness journey at 35 may look completely different at 60. It's a job forever! Lastly, Mrs Kathryn...as a TRUE supporter. I obtained my Bachelor's of Biomedical Science and Chemistry, while pregnant. I absolutely did FAIL organic chemistry twice before I passed it the 3rd time, then passed Orgo 2 on the first attempt. My best advice is to force your needs on your instructors, create study groups, go to tutoring sessions, email ALL of your questions and don't hesitate to not take a full load when you take your harder sciences such as Orgo. One thing I also did when it came to study groups, I got with my peers that seemed like they were grasping the topics, at least...better, than I was. I needed the smartest people in the room at that point. I SWEAR, I didn't meant to make this long. Can't wait to see you accomplish what you deserve❤🙏🏿💪🏿✊🏿

Hey sis! I just graduated in May with a Chemistry degree, and just like you organic chemistry nearly took me out. I had long days, and lots of tears but it made me fall in love because I actually took the time to understand it. With that being said, a moment of honesty.. with a chemistry degree the health care field is really the route that makes the most money. Like you said I could work at McDonald’s as a manager and make more money. I was so devastated when I seen that the most their offering entry level for a chemist is 24$ an hour. Chemistry is something you really need to LOVE to work in because the money isn’t the best. I’m so excited for you keep pushing!

I really enjoyed this video. I just started my KZbin channel a few months ago and got unmotivated to do videos just as well. The living environment that I’m in really has a huge effect on my day to day. One thing I pat myself on the back about is being able to be aware of when I’m unhappy. The journey that I’m taking has also led me to go back to school with getting a higher education. I’m an earlier bloomer, and had my first child at the age of 15. I’ve never got that freedom to just be me and do what I want. I’m finding my true identity as a grown woman and I’m appreciative of that. What I like about you is being aware that you were pouring too much into your wife role and reevaluating your situation and going back to school. I love that for you.

I totally understand the relaxer. My mom actually went back as well. Her hair doesn't curl because of the weight of her hair. It is waist length. So she just flat irons her hair. She also lives in japan and doesn't have someone to do her hair. So it is easier to just relax instead of being natural. I personally am a wash n go girl. When i did have relaxers and flat iron my mom maintained my hair. I never got good at it and at the time i didn't have the money to spend on maintenence with a relaxer and flat ironing it. However i am giving myself a break and just getting knotless braids done on my hair as i am expecting.
