Thank you all for sharing your answers and as someone who had liposuction done; I still struggled with this and considered even more surgery as the years went on because I was trying to “fix” my imperfections. I’m not against surgery because it can be helpful for our self confidence eg breast lift, fixing your teeth, gastric bypass (weight loss surgery) even BBLs. I’m just urging us to take a deeper look inside before we make life changing decisions to our bodies. 💞💞💞

I was 90 pounds looking like a 12 yr old up until my 2nd pregnancy at 30. During that pregnancy, I developed all kinds of curves that I never thought my body would ever have. My body develops very very slowly. I started working out and I was able to shape her the best I could. I'm glad there was no bbl then because I probably would have spent money on something I had naturally had but wasn't matured yet.

We have taken this to a whole new level of obsession. Every 5 to 10 years it's a new shape we are obsessed over. 10 years ago it was the lean skinny European looks that was trendy and women starved, sucked out fat, and cut all kinds of things to be skinny. now its thick full booty and boobs with tiny waist and we have gone back to fill up. We seem to be shape-shifting every 5 years. Who deals with that. I will be here watching, I refuse to be subjected to such agony by any kind of trend. Eat what you love in moderation, excercise and keep stress level down.

The thing is that social media doesn't represent the real life.. there are and will always be men loving the one or the other natural shape of a woman. Only the dusty / fetishizers will prefer the fake instagram look for real.

You're right. I remember about 20 years ago, there was a vogue article ratting on black women for having fat lips and that standard should be thin lips. That year and those following lots of black women did what was called lip tucks. Other articles railed black women for having big butts and hips. Guess what, black women started doing procedures to reduce butt size... Most of the hate on black women was just white folk being jealous they couldn't attain those looks naturally and set out to mess with black folk. 20 years later: the millennials come along and throw all political correctness out the window and set the average black woman as the beauty standard, skin and all. These days you see some of them using black makeup online... Japanese have started perming their hair afro with straw curls... These facts are verifiable online. I wish I could ask black women who got lip tucks what they feel when they see that white women are now getting lip fillers... Think about everything carefully! The plot is thickening. They want to be us, hair, skin, lips, hips, arse, arms, voice, confidence and all... Listen black girl, you're the desire of nations. Ultimately God loves us equally and if we stop looking at each other's bodies and look into God we'll eventually get it right.

same thing with skin bleaching here in Nigeria, these things are really hard to maintain and then you never end up solving the "problem" which wasn't a problem in the first place. You just create unnecessary problems and health concerns. I really wish brands and influential women would do better❤

You’re the first KZbinr I’ve heard that has spoken nothing but the truth! I honestly think it’s starting to become a problem. What makes this worst is that people (influencers) keep saying it’s fine to do this and it’s your body. I get that but at the same time these influencers have the money and sponsorship deals with these clinics whereas the viewer doesn’t have that privilege thus making them find low budget doctors who are not professional and could potentially harm/kill these young girls. I think it is a very sad time we are in. I’m a Christian and tbh I feel like every time we complain about our bodies (I’m guilty of this as well) we are just insulting God. The Bible says He made us in His image and likeness. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. But now social media is telling us that what we naturally have is ugly or we are not meeting the standards. It is my prayer that people make informed decisions before going to get a huge procedure like this for the right reasons because like you said once you get one thing done it won’t end there.
@devoraht48283 жыл бұрын
Amen, you have just proven that God exists and he made us Truly in his image, this whole norm of society making it look like getting something done to your body is the highest form of insult to God, because we are all created in his image and one thing this world needs urgently is the spread of self love because God loves us so much, we really don't need more influencers spreading lack of self love, it's really sad and it's really dangerous to mock God in such a way because his wrath is unavoidable. May God have mercy on this earth.🙏

🗣Force ! So what about people that have back problems from big boobs and teeth issues, excessive skin from significant weight loss etc…. @@christinaiam1 my sister that’s why I said make an informed decision. I know there are people who do it for good reason ( excess skin from weight loss, health reasons and as you mentioned breast augmentation) but if it’s being done in vain what purpose does that serve and also are we comfortable with the fact that many people are dying from this and the increased issues of insecurities stemming from this
@devoraht48283 жыл бұрын
@@naenae4169 exactly, when it's for health purposes it is used to save lives, but if it's in vain, changing your form simply because you are saying God didn't make you perfect, you are simply telling God that this is how you should have created me, that is the insult, my sister Renee you are absolutely right its in vain, as Christians we also have the right to stand for the laws of God, we are not judging people so, @C C please where are you presenting the laws in this.
@ReeRee_Donita3 жыл бұрын
I agree with you sis, though my stance is more controversial because I recognise that it could easily cross the line into aesthetic absolutism. I’m also quite conservative. I personally believe that the general language deployed when we give advice to women about their bodies needs to change. Instead of telling women they should “do it if you want to- your body, your choice”, we should be telling them “go ahead, but know what you’re getting yourself into”. The latter is the type of language that is more likely to arouse the conscience and cause you to not act impulsively. That way, we’re giving them their agency to act and also actively making them introspect. We need to at least give women the chance to be rational thinking agents, rather than let them chase vanities just because they can do what they want with their bodies, particularly if those vanities don’t guarantee any real happiness. I guess this is the main issue with late-stage capitalism (its relationship with beauty has a long history) : any view on beauty that seems to head towards an absolutist trajectory is automatically labelled “policing the female body”, however there are so many legitimate moral concerns surrounding it, despite its prescriptive undertone.

I’ve never considered getting a BBL, and even if I had a lot of money, I still wouldn’t do it. The truth of the matter is that our body’s first function is and always will be to keep us alive. Period. So every time I look in the mirror and feel some type of way, I switch that energy to positive thoughts towards my body for keeping me alive and for keeping me healthy. And because of that mindset I actively want to take care of my body, I want to eat well and exercise and drink lots of water. I won’t deny that I like cake and pizza and whatnot though. And I don’t totally deprive myself of that because what’s life without good food lol. Ultimately though, I know that my body is mine and I’m probably never going to look like Kim K or whoever the current “body goals” person is, even if I had a strict diet and worked out like crazy, the fat distribution on my body isn’t made for that. So I just focus on being healthy and going through life thankful that I have a body that carries me through a whole pandemic even when I’m not always the best to it

Body wise, the body I want can only be achieved through the gym and I already basically have it. Just need to do more cardio to really define the abs. Emrata is my body goals and I model, so having the out of control booty is not on my radar. Plus its the most deadly surgery lol, so I don't know why anyone thinks its worth it. I think I’ve come to realize. A knife will not solve self hate. You’ll just find something else you dislike. That’s how people get addicted to surgery. I say more work on the mental. Less focus on the superficial physical (unless it’s about being healthy)

I feel like beauty standards belong in the bin. Imagine what you hate about yourself is something someone else really wants. Achieving perfection is IMPOSSIBLE because everyone has their own idea of perfection, so you can never please everyone. I feel if you are doing anything you should really think deep down if you’d be happy with what you want to change a few years down because the way beauty trends start and stop is alarming. I know someone who hated the way her lips looked growing up because they were big, I’m sure if she had the opportunity then to change them she would have without knowing a few years later it would be something almost everyone would want. Self love in this time is soo difficult because sometimes you are feeling on top of the world and someone from nowhere would have the audacity to comment something hateful on your post causing to start rethinking your whole life. Basically what I am saying is, loving yourself shouldn’t be a trend because trends end quickly. Everyone has something they’d want to change about themselves and sometimes people just project that insecurity on others.

Toni I get all you are saying, but do you think liposuction (which you've done) is safer than bbl
@sarahtheshiznet3 жыл бұрын
Lipo is apart of bbl
@luvinlyrics3 жыл бұрын
It absolutely is. Any doctor will tell you that BBL’s are so unsafe because of how difficult it is to be sure the fat isn’t injected into a blood vessel until it’s far too late to stop it from causing a heart attack.

Thank you for talking about body image. I have money to do whatever surgery I like if I want to but I will never do any plastic surgery Cause its not worth it. I just workout and eat healthy.

Well I stay in a very small African country,I have never heard of this BBL,I however know of the news about women dying doing these surgeries. I also have a problem from when I was a young child,our doctors injected us medication through our butts,and most of us got bad scars from them,me being among them,at 21 I have learnt to leave the insecurities of by butt scars and dips caused by these injections and move on. Life is short and to meet real people in this world,you have to be yourself. Stay safe and love your bodies.

Definitely getting a bbl cos for some of us it’s been one hell of a ride. Worked out like crazy, done all sorts of diet but still, the tummy won’t go anywhere. I was very religious with my weight loss regimen the whole of the lockdown/pandemic. I was so thin but stilllllllll the belly was huge. I just want to be able to wear a damn dress and not look like spongebob. There’s this confidence you get in wearing a dress and it looks good on your body. I’ve had to stay away from form fitting dresses and sexy outfits cos the belly is a problem. I can’t go out and eat properly cos I be looking like a pregnant woman the moment I get up from the table (It’s embarrassing and you’re even still hungry ffs) p.s. I don’t even eat much. It’s the only way to jumpstart the perfect body for some of us. Some people already have good bodies but just want it to look perfect while some of us just want to be able to rock our “ashawo clothes” (I have so many I keep holding on to cos I’m hoping the tummy fat will loose me at a point 😩) but then! To each his own. I’ll just advise anyone looking to get their bodies done “don’t let the price be the reason you get a botched job.... inasmuch as we don’t get to tell people what to do with their money, please RESEARCH! Expensive doesn’t always mean good too but then there are loads of doctors willing to do it at really cheap rates it’s beginning to look scary. So again, do your RESEARCH”

It's important to remember that the female body is a trend unfortunately. Every decade different female body types are uplifted and placed as the standard. Radical self love is the way to go!

BBL is the current beauty standard. But, current is the key word. I'm almost 40. Beauty standards have changed wildly over the years.

I’ve not considered a bbl (yet cos I’ve seen people say they haven’t considered it and change their minds after a while) but I struggle with body dysmorphia… last year to a few months ago I was working out excessively till I got to a weight that was unsustainable and now that I no longer workout I feel fat everytime
@ToniOlaoye3 жыл бұрын
Yeah over working your body to fit a certain weight/body standard is all a part of it. Just try to get balance with your fitness journey.

First time coming across u but i loved ur honestyyy. Yes maybe if i had money I wud have gotten a smaller waist and its only cuz as a teen I have always loved to see very flat indented waist on the sides tho my stomach is very flat still now I am 31 with a 24 inch waist but it just doesnt have that side indent I love to see so much. I love how u said women in their teens and 20s shud not be considering bbl. I totally agree cuz women usually blossom between the ages of 20 to 25. I wud only understand if a woman in her early 20s did it if they had kids cuz u kno the struggle be real for some women after giving birth.

If money wasn't an issue I'd get a beauty team - nutritionist, personal trainer and a Chinese medicine practitioner. Because since I started eating healthier, exercising and correcting my posture, my body is naturally becoming the 'ideal'. Went from apple to hourglass in 2 years...all for free!

People that claim they are tweaking their bodies because that is what they want “self care” don’t realise just how fickle the mind is. Sometimes I am shocked at how much my opinions on life have changed through the years, my dear you cannot trust your own mind oh, don’t let it fool you into tweaking your natural assets. If you don’t see the beauty in your natural shape, give it time and workout! You will never be like the other girls but you will be beautiful you and learn to accept yourself, that is the real self love, sometimes all it takes is you getting used to how you look. Looking through Ig pages with girls that look nothing like you does not help.

The main reason for shortage on doctors in the Canadian health care system is actually funding. There’s usually a cap of the amount of available doctors in order to provide the “free” healthcare. That’s why it can be a hassle. Friggin sucks and dangerous tbh but I understand to an extent

Well it’s not a BBL for me but if definitely get my boobs done. Reason: I’m 29 years old and barely fill up and A cup size which doesn’t look so great in clothes considering that my hips are a size 8 and waist is a 6 🥲🥲 Sucks

The things is society is just horrible, when I look at the shade room and the comments about Coi Leary people tend to be so cruel and laugh at her for having a “boy body” which is just rude and such comments leave women wanting to change their body and when women with her body see those comments they tend to become insecure. People should understand skinny shaming is a thing and it’s horrible. In general people on the internet cyber bully out of projection on their own insecurities which is honestly sad
