Where I am I am slowly outgrowing a lot of people who I considered my friends but not. I really want to learn more about African tradition reason that I said that is because I am an Afro American and I want to learn about African tradition, so do you think that you can help me with that? I know that you might say you can look it up on the Internet. I really don’t trust the Internet much. Now just to let you know, I have been to Africa before last year actually was my first time there I went to Ghana, Angola, Tanzania, Djibouti, and Namibia. I like all of the places that I went to other than Djibouti I want to go back there again, and I was wondering if you could help me out with that? Not as far as me going there, but just all of their heritage that you have, can you pass that on to me? High school taught me that people can literally hate you but be in your life just to have access to your life and business. I think finding out really scarred me. I approach people so cautiously now and the friends I made as an adult also did the same, the secret competition. Wow 😂

Ohh & sometimes you have people around you they say they are your friends but you don’t feel like they’re ur friends. When someone asks you who’s your friend, you just become blank . Am glad my high school journey came to an end this year because I was around people that I felt they were not real .♥️ And yes it’s true sometimes you feel really lonely& be like “I wish I had a bestie & staff” just wanting to go out with someone.

I feel like platonic romance is a beautiful thing. Texting after friendship dates, sending your friend reels saying this made me think about you. Randomly buying your friend gifts like chocolates or flowers. I know some people do but I don't find it cringey lol.

As a married, full time employed, twin toddler mom, low maintenance friends are heaven sent! Sometimes meeting up with friends is practically impossible, except for mom friend dates where we camp at Papachinos while having cocktails while our children play 😅

New subbie, love this topic colleague. I simply subscribed because this topic and all you said resonates with me...every minute of this topic. I've made peace with the notion of God isolating you to elevate you, and looking at it spiritually has changed my approach to how to feel "alone". Friends have done me dirty my whole life so God removed me from friendships altogether

Same here 😂 every one I’ve given a chance has done me dirty. I just accepted that I am not built for friendship and that’s ok. Strangely enough everyone feels they are a good friend and have done nothing wrong 😂😂😂so I don’t know 🤷🏽‍♀️

At my big age, I’m here for low maintenance friendships 😂😂 my besties are from my uni days, we’ve been friends for over 10-15 years 😂😂 so we definitely don’t speak often but when we do, or meet it really is ON! I’ll give you until you have children, working full time or married sana. 4 dates with friends in a month while managing all of the above? Time will tell🫠🫠 I am unashamedly loving the low maintenance side and I’m here to stay😂
