Hi Granny Pat. Glad you had a good Thanksgiving. I enjoyed your story about the Macy’s parade. I was born and raised only about 45 minutes from NYC, in NJ. I left NJ for WA in 1992. All the years and all of the times I went to the city, I never went for the Macy’s parade or NYE, as much as I wanted to, the crowds were just too insane….and you have to get a good spot so early, and then you can’t move from it…nope, I’ll watch on tv. I did participate in a couple of Norwegian parades that took place in the city….my friend and her family were from Norway, I went with them. It was fun. I did get to see many different Broadway shows, The Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall for the Christmas show a couple of times, ice skating at Rockefeller Center. I loved all of the window displays in all of the stores at Christmas time, and the city with its decorations…..it’s so magical in a way…..especially when you’re a child. Thanks for bringing me down memory lane from all those years ago. I’ll be 60 in March.

Never went to the parade. This yr it was crap. Its not the parades of my childhood in the 60s. Your calming soothing taking everything. With a grain of salt. Is why I love you so much. Sorry you fell down pat. If i was there. I'd throw you over my shoulder. Carry you into Jessicas apt❤🎉

Morning G Pat 🌞☃️🎄 Merry Christmas! 🎅🤶 I have to share with you. When I was 10yr old, my uncle owned a small resort in the Arkansas ozarks. He had some famous people stay there due to the location being in the mountains providing a stay away from the public. He had Jerry Lee Lewis there once who unloaded his piano from his hauler truck and entertained all. Well, once when I was there in the summer, an older lady came with a few others. I was at the pool when this slender older lady dressed in a one piece black swim suit came and spread her beach towel on a lounger chair. Right away I noticed that she had brilliant diamond rings on and a couple of gold chains around her neck. After a few minutes, I had to approach her and ask her, “are those rings real?” “Yes they are, dear”. I asked a second time, “are thos chains real gold?” “They are honey”. It was HOT that day and so I asked, “aren’t you going to get burned by the chains laying here in the sun?” She replied, “Honey, when you have paid as much as I did for them, you never take them off.” I had to giggle. So, that night my uncle hosted a steak dinner for all in the resort. There weren’t that many that week, maybe 12. After we all ate, my aunt asked me if I wanted to earn $10 by clearing the table and doing dishes. Sure! Well, I had the dishes all scraped and in the sink getting ready to wash when in walked the lady with diamonds and gold chains. She said, “I tell you what, I will wash and you dry. Deal?” OK. With diamonds on she started washing dishes and asking me what grade I was in and which subjects did I like etc. I finally asked her who she was and what she did. I was so surprised because no one had told me up to that point. She said, “well, have you ever seen the Macy’s Day Thanksgiving Parade?’ Yes. “There’s a big dept store in New York City called Macy’s, do you know of it?” Yes. “Well, I own that. My name is Mrs. Macy”. WOW! It was old lady Macy as she was referred to. She was the nicest lady…very down to earth. I asked her, “why are you washing dishes?!” She replied, “honey, where I come from everyone waits on me hand and foot. I love to wash dishes but they won’t let me do it back home. This is enjoyable to me.” She was there about a week. Before she left my uncle took her for a fast ride across the lake in his big engine boat. She sat up front in the chair and uncle in the back driving it at the wheel. There she flew across the lake, gold chains and all. She loved it. She left a day later. I’ll never forget that week. God bless you G Pat…I too loved your story today! Cheri from IL 🎄🦌🎅🤶🎄

Write it up so you never forget a word of it. Thank you for telling it to me. I have met a few senators and representatives in my job. But they didn’t compare with the time the movie star, Celeste Holm walked across my path right in front of me. I thought I would faint. Look her up!
