I do find it funny that people - and by that I mean Indians - ttry to compare a whole country like India, US, Canada or Australia with Dubai. The UAE also has Sharjah & Abu Dhabi and is not just the shopping capital of the world.

Agree, but many people don’t know about UAE, that’s why everyone mention Dubai for the sake of understanding.. if u saw our first video of Dubai series, nobody in Amy’s class knew about Dubai also.. UAE is famous in Asian side of people..have met many people here who don’t even know that Dubai is an emirate in a country

My in-laws have been here in California for 50 years (Nuclear Engineer/School Psychologist)., Once they retired, they had to seriously downgrade their lifestyle. Dubai is not a bad option. Having learnt from my in-laws experience, we have invested in a home in Dubai. Also, work-life balance is again a mindset. I work 16 hours daily in my business and love it. It is a personal choice, I guess. The only thing I will advise is that Canada is no different from California. Don't look at now look at your future/old age/retirement. Good luck with everything you decide to do!

Great analysis! I think the biggest Point here is that if you're already a millionaire then Dubai or a low tax Haven is the right place for you to move to. But if you're middle class, then there isn't a point to move. I always feel there is paralysis by analysis ESPECIALLY by every South Asian of constantly evaluating where should they live. Once and for all - like you guys just make a decision and stick to it. There is benefit to consistency where you build up your wealth, your network, your family Roots Etc and you start to grow fom there. I feel most South Asians are constantly stuck about the next best opportunity that they close down roots in one area and then regrow them in another area. At the end of the day they're just left with a history of moving but not history of staying in one place and bo genuine happiness or fulfillment. I think great decision and choice! For those living in Dubai nothing wrong with your decision but stick to it and stay there. Here the high school system is quite tough at least i feel it

I really loved this video. We're in the same situation where you were 5-6 years ago. Moved to Canada with family as a PR from Dubai. Although we are here but our heart is still in Dubai and we wish to move there one day. But have heared from many people that we won't be able to when that time comes. I've experienced now from your video, the same love for Dubai but its not easy for you to move there after living in Canada for 5-6 yrs long time.

If you want easy access to world , you need to live in dubai. Do you have maid in canada? We can have maid in dubai, we have personal driver, Do you know how much it cost us? We don’t wash our utensils . We spend those time in our work and socialise with our friend every day

Location 00:50 Shilpaji and Amitji aapne 2~3 baar Dubai/UAE ki tax free salary ka zikr kiyaa hai. Main aapko bataata chaloon ki as a Canadian PR Holder or a Canadian citizen you are supposed to file your tax returns every year (just like any resident of Canada) and declare your entire income earned anywhere in the world. It means if you work outside of Canada, you will still be liable to pay federal and provincial taxes on your employment or business income. Aapko poora tax dena padegaa because there's no tax treaty between Canada and UAE. Mere kehne ka matbal hai ki Dubai mein tax free salary nahin hai hum jaise logon ke liye. One way or the other, tax to denaa hi padega. Aap jo yahaan Kanedda mein tax dete hain, uske badley mein aapko free education, free library service, free language courses, and free healthcare miltaa hai (MRI, complicated heart, eye, or liver surgeries, poora pregnancy ka duration and then delivery, even heart transplant and cancer ki chemotherapy treatment, dialysis etc) - sab free. Aap Dubai mein kisi bhi free cheez ka tasavvur bhi nahin kar sakte. Dubai income par Canada mein tax bharo, aur sab services ke liye Dubai mein bahot paise pay karo. Matbal tax ki vasooli nahin ho paati. Ye to ghaate ka sauda hai. Shilpaji Canada mein employers usually RRSP retirement plan ya Pension plan mein match dete hain, (matbal free ke paise, retirement security, and tax bhi kam), Canadian Government RESP match deti hai, private companies usually Employee Share Plan mein free shares dete hain. Retirement ke baad aapko Canada Pension Plan ke tehat har mahine pension aur Old Age Security ke paise bhi milte hain Federal Government ki taraf se. These benefits are unthinkable in the UAE. Location 13:58 Work Life Balance to Dubai mein hai hi nahin. Aap kaam kar kar ke mar jaao and your employer wouldn't care. He will hire another person for half the salary he paid you in just 2 minutes from India/Pakistan/Sri Lanka/The Philippines. My personal experience: yahaan Kanedda mein bosses tell their direct reports ki main 5:00 pm ke baad aapki shakal nahin dekhnaa chaahtaa office mein. Go home and spend time with your family. Agar overtime kiyaa bhi to uske paise milte hain. Oopar se 2 din ka weekend is an icing on the cake. Shilpaji unlike Canada, Dubai ki society healthy nahin hai. There are different sets of rules and justice systems for UAE nationals, GCC citizens, White caucasians, Muslims and ghurbat ke shikaar South Asians, non-Muslims. I will just leave it at that. Aur phir har roz ka noise pollution gets to you (if you know what I mean). Canada mein racism bahot bahot subtle, nahin ke baraabar hai, kyonki qavaneen bahot sakht hain. UAE mein to racism openly hotaa hai. Canada mein everyone is equal. Yahaan ke PM ko bhi traffic ticket miltaa hai. Maine Dubai, aur Tokyo mein bahot arsaa bitaaya hai. Both these cities are excellent for tourists. But both these beautiful cities can be compared with an iceberg. Samandar mein tairtaa hua ek khoobsurat sa iceberg sirf 10% hi dikhtaa hai, 90% paani ke neeche submerged hotaa hai. Glittering Dubai and world-class and rich culture ka Japan are exactly like that. Only the awe-inspiring, beautiful, and majestic 10% is visible, the greedy, nasty, sad, and unjust 90% is submerged and invisible. Vahaan kuchh saal rehne se hi aapke 14 taabak roshan hote hain. My decison is working out for me. Canada ki natural beauty enjoy karo, bahot kaam karke paise kamaao, aur retirement ke baad Canadian passport par bahot travelling karo. Ho sakey to Dubai, Nice (southern France), ya Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka mein ek vacation home khareed kar repeating cycle mein 3 mahine udhar aur 3 mahine idhar Toronto mein, aaraam se guzaaro. Best of both worlds.

I study in FL and alway wanted to live there but when we went there for holiday it felt so busy and not worth the move, not same vibe...same for UK where we lived 10 year and has family but our daughter love her school and home everything here in whitby...she is teen now and did not want to move out of currnt townhome to big home because she do not want to move school so yes kids preferences take priority in life...

Few points are contradictory to many ppl : I have never worked in Dubai after 4 pm, no weekend work. 120K for 3BDR in decent community is good rent. In 2015 I have paid 95000 for 1 BDR in decent community. IB school starts from AED 3000 and onwards. Savings are great as no income taxes. Roaming around world is great from Dubai. Upcoming new university campuses are promising for higher education Healthcare - no dispensing fees , no waiting’s atleast. Ppl live in cluster who want to live in , there are many mixed communities. Also, you forgot to mention about 1 month paid leave with tickets to home country and no limit to explore job opportunities.
