Punjabi music and songs have always been there close to my heart, despite me belonging to another culture, I mean the language is sooo sweet and beautiful. And Neha what can I say, you truly hold up your Punjabi culture and tradition yet you're unique from everyone else because you've your own twist in every song you make. Your hard work is showing off and it will pay of at the end :) Lots and lots of love and respect from a Bangladeshi! Xoxo

miss chaudarie eyyy the same surname! I'm also "Miss Chowdhury" haha :P Those of us who come from north east Bangladesh (a place called Sylhet, btw if you live in the U.K. you'll pretty much see Sylheti Bangladeshis :P) do have our own Sufi folk music which is somehow very similar to Punjabi songs so that might be the reason why Punjabi music is very. Folk music in general is right upon my alley :) And thanks girl May Allah bless you xoxo

Chowdhury reading your comment was like listening to myself haha i'm sylheti too! and i totally agree with you on the similarity of the sufi folk themes - this kind of music touches your heart and satiates a yearning you didn't know you had. it's so nice to see that there are others who share this taste for music despite coming from an entirely different walk of life. jazaak Allah khair miss chowdhury ❤️

"Gaddi aayi teshan( station) te, akh bhij geyi veeran di"... and "Dheeaan waaleyaan deeyaan rab izzataan rakh da e" : These words are deeply moving in the context of a traditional Punjabi wedding. Your rendition warmed the cockles of this Punjabi listener's heart as no other singer of this song ever has. Quite a few variants of the lyrics exist including a couple of comical ones. Your rendition is of the original folk song with one couplet missing( beginning with piplaan diyaan chhaanwaan ni), but no matter. You sang this gem with your distinctive tenderness and sweetness evoking both the joy and pathos of an evening of bridal music. Adore your voice, Neha Bhasin. And I absolutely love your instrumental accompaniment. The voice and the instruments worked beautifully together.
@mamta37926 жыл бұрын
Hi...can you translate for me this verse... "dheeaan waaleyaan deeyaan ran izzataan rakhda e" Thank you.
@vcmago6 жыл бұрын
@@mamta3792 The first line of the couplet suggests that the bridegroom is a priceless find( Heera lakh sawa lakh da e). The second line beginning with dheeyan means "the Good Lord( Rab) surely protects the honor( izzataan) of those with daughters( dheeyaan waaleyaan deeyaan)." Two points about the wording: Sometimes in Punjabi, the singular words are given a plural form even when it's not necessary grammatically , especially in poetry. Thus here izzat might do in a chat but is turned into izzataan. Dhee( apbhransh for duhitra in Sanskrit, which is cognate with the English word daughter.) means daughter and dheeyaan is just its plural form. That whole line and the previous couplet are an expression of gratitude to God--- conveyed for the parents who are lucky to have found a good match for their daughter, and for the lucky daughter who is being united with such a bridegroom.
@vcmago6 жыл бұрын
Waaliyaan is plural for waali, meaning "with." The possessive word deeyaan, meaning "of" likewise is used in a plural form. The singular form would be "dee."
