Good tip : 90% of 2nd or 3rd enemies getting involved in a fight aren't expecting you aim your next attack towards them. 90% of the time in this situation your original opponent will think he has a free attack while you're 'distracted'. If you land the hit on the other opponent you gain initiative and can immediately counter the first opponents attack which 90% of the time, will hit both opponents and leave you with the initiative once again. The most useful thing I've learned is that most players are very predictable in certain situations. Another great tip for newbies or anyone with a holding block habit - counter stab beats kick every time. Just always be prepared to counter stab opponents if you are holding block. Many times even if you counter stab while they are swinging or overheading, your stab will still connect first providing you're using a sword or fast weapon. I also use the longsword 90% of the time. Last tip : remember to taunt your enemies often, this will cause some players to become more aggressive and therefore more predictable as battles progress.

@@Nediac800 Just use lmb counters in 1vX because 9/10 players will just spam lmb attacks even its 8 v 1. The counter stab is just the faster move available and it will beat a kick. @Zkarr873 жыл бұрын
Except it is not advanced, it is the basic tutorial :D, but most ppl just want to have fun so they dont know about jabs and kicks and only use slash, stab, overhead and block. An advanced tutorial should have been not be afraid to toss your weapons more often and be aware of your "dying" environment and pick up weapons and shields. Also, most archers play in first person, so they are easily beaten by a heavy and light attack (60+40=100), they don't have time to react. And also to help your team in narrow locations, like the bridge, it is always a good idea to have 2-3 rabbits running in and getting a bunch of swarming nubs around you and just run around away from the choke point, that way u often win those hard blocked paths ez. Etc... but yeah love this guy, great vid.
@claudemoney67983 жыл бұрын
@@Zkarr87 Still, this guide is way more advanced / useful than the average '' guide '' on youtube. Explaining the initiative system is really important imo to really deconstruct the fighting in phases. New players gamble so much which get them killed way to often to some mundane attacks. Also, showing that whiffs are an open window for guaranteed hit is huge. The player don't understand how to hit someone since they think riposting and parrying will eventually just make them win which isn't the case in chiv 2, the enemy can just block for ages.

(Mordhau Vet Here) It seems like new players are having a much easier time learning the game compared to mordhau. It took my two friends over 20 hours in mordhau before they could even hope to 2v1 me with full communication. But in just their first beta, they were already able to win the occasional duel, and they even topped the leaderboards on occasion. I think the devs tried really hard to narrow the gap between the skill floor and ceiling, while still leaving room to grow and improve. So far it’s seams like they did a good job and created a successful casual experience for most people.

Yeah, I had some fun with Chivalry 1 but ultimately, I kept bouncing off of very experienced players who could slash me in half in ten seconds. I've only played for a little bit but Chivalry 2 seems very well balanced. I fought many experienced players and, even though I'd still lose most of the time, the key difference is that I could always feel that it was my fault, recognize how I failed and work on that. And once I got a feel for some tricks (feinting, dodging, lobbing your shield to finish your opponent, which is always the funniest thing ever when it lands) I could even get some hits in, which does a lot for the morale.

Yeah I'd do the combo to parry move often in mordhau if I missed, but it does feel like it punishes someone who isn't aware of a vague mechanic rather than rewarding someone who can react/think on their feet by punishing a miss, or manipulating an opponent into doing so. Still possible to punish or encourage a miss in mordhau ofc, but honestly I prefer it this way; it requires more deliberation, timing and correct judgement to land an attack whilst rewarding those who can take advantage of an enemy missing attack more easily.

Extra tip for the boys: use your weapons range, or be carefull of your oponents range, i was one of the boys that used a greatsword like if it was just a stronger punch, going fordward no matter what, i learned is more safe and efectivo to actually keep your distance while swinging your weapon(the longer ones) for example just by doing reylar slashes taking stros back im constantly making a danger zone in front of me, very usefull to catch oponents off guard when they sre the ones closing the gap, or gaining time for allies to come as newer player are less likely tl actually use counters and will just stay away from you, this works even better with gamblers as even if their weapons are faster, your greater range will more often than not make them miss but youll actually reach them

Its very common to want to walk in a circle or backpedal when dueling or 1vXing, but trying to walk through your opponent fucks their timing all to hell. As much as people dont want to admit, Chiv (and mordhau) are rhythm games, so making your attacks land sooner than expected turns into kicking the CD player and the track skips (and you have a better chance of landing a hit to the head).

Excellent video man, a lot of these tips you naturally pick up on as you gain experience. My biggest struggle right now is getting sniped by archers that are camping in the back of the map lol.

The new player experience is brutal! I just started playing a little today, and I’m put up against experienced players, but at least I’m still managing to kill a few.

No shit bro! They match a lev10 player with a lev1000 player

Yeah dude it’s super frustrating, but at least I’m better now, being able to kill two players at once.

Whenever I’m playing I mostly get killed by people who are seemingly just button mashing swinging wildly and nonstop side to side, and I’m using my defense but because the opponent just keep swinging my shield breaks and I die? How come I run out of stamina faster then the guy who’s swinging whereas im just standing still having no choice but to take the hits because for some reason you can’t hold your shield up and dash back at the same time to create distance?

I have a question about the kick: I normally punish blocking by kicking but sometimes it doesn't do anything to the enemy's block and they immediately swing and hit me. Is this because of the initiative system. Kicking feels inconsistent, especially coming from Mordhau so I'm assuming there's some mechanic I'm not aware is affecting it.
@KingLouie1113 жыл бұрын
If they press the attack button a split second before the kick connects then they won't get staggered and their attack goes through.

if we talk about players, and not total noobs, kicks are very punishable here, i even bite for kick holding RMB and when his start kick i press LMB) overall to many risks here for kick to many things can go wrong, gamble strike , 1vX dont let you use kick at all, broken fast piearce attacks, etc.
@thehorkerporkerttv74623 жыл бұрын
I'm finding it very jarring coming from Mordhau lol. Kicks, feints etc have made us so used to trying to steal initiative so being punished for trying to steal it feels horrible haha.

Who knew this is the game I have been searching for my whole life: kingdom for deliverance was almost what I wanted. But this swordplay is slicker than most big games out there.

Couple of things that are bugging me. 1. No voice chat 2. No button remapping on console 3. No way to invite party into game in progress 4. No duel servers up 5. No private game servers Apart from that, I am enjoying!

Yo if I block someone and riposte them and I'm using the great sword while my opponent is using a short sword will I have initiative if I riposte them after a block with any type of attack I can do with the great sword excluding specials because right now I suck at fighting people with fast weapons

I couldn't understand why when I kick someone they don't get knocked back and I do. It's all because I had my block up and they didn't 😂 Knowing this will help me out so much in 1v1 situations
