I love how the True Ending shows us just how useless the Glukkons really are. The only thing they can really do is bark orders, and that's about it. And even then, they aren't all too good at keeping their own workers loyal, so their demise was basically their own doing.

I love the fact that all the endings establish that Molluck and Abe are in a yin-yang relationship, each one destined to suffer or triumph at the same time. It actually helps to make their interactions more memorable.

I like Molluck's design in this game. The black suit, the scarred face, the singular glowing red eye, the deep voice. His eye also glows brighter the angrier he gets, from the looks of it. This guy sounds threatening, looks terrifying, and has an imposing presence. I enjoy Molluck as a villain.

@@10RexTheWolf01 yeah. I have to say the Molluck from Oddysee was downright terrifying. Like real nightmare material. I don't know why, but the remake and soulstorm both lost this gritty harrowing flair. When I was little I saw the intro to Oddysee. The "This is Rupture Farms..." part where they showed the outside of the plant and pan through it showing the circular saws and carcasses. Man, that stuff gave me occasional yet consistent nighmares for at least 5 straight weeks. You could almost smell the rotting meat and the putrid smoke during the intro.

Plus, Rupture farms was a decadent bussiness, the mudokons were little more than underpaid janitors and most glukkons are amoral and greedy. Molluck trying to pull an insurance scam that got out of control doesn't sound too far fetched.

I kind of thought of that. But my idea is a bit like a DLC. This time you wield weapons like rifles, and other automatics, and explosives. The combat functions similar to Comic Jumper’s combat. Attacking Sligs and other monsters you come across as you wander around the wasteland like desert. One mechanic of a weapon I thought was the shotgun. While bringing out the shotgun you can only move forward and backward to the director your facing, and you can only move forward faster. To change directions, quickly flick the joystick to the opposite direction to have a faster movement on the other direction. And yeah, there can be a quick mission where you can defend yourself from sligs and/or other enemies.

I've been playing the Oddworld games since day 1 on the Ps1 back then. Gameplay-wise, Soulstorm is actually the worst in the series by a long stretch. Many awful choices by design, replaying a stage to improve your Quarma doesn't save check points, forcing you to beat them in one clean shot no matter how long they are, an unnecessary crafting system, "trial and error" passages, several softlocking situations, various glitches, the controls have sometimes inconsistent reactions, and at last I swear a slig can kill up to 2-3 mudokons with ONE bullet (Played it on hard difficulty).

The only Glukkon that’s unfortunately missing is General Drippick. I have a good feeling that General Drippick is the glukkon who’s in charge of the Slig Army that protects Nolybab, Lady Margret (Queen of the Glukkon’s), and the mudokon Queen Sam. They may use him as one of the main villains in the next game

This brewmaster is a 180 of the old one and I don’t like it cause it turns him into a generic Glukkon when he was so unique. Soul storm feels like it is retrying to be a worse exodus and I don’t like that.

A real shame how General Drippick wasn't one of the head glukkons or even included in the game/apart of the Soul Storm Brew Company, Nekrum Mines, Slig Barracks, and Feco. Depo of the big mudokan workforce regions for this game. I will say that making Mullock and his only remaining Slig Hench people left into a very key plot element for the story of the HD remaster was a very nice touch though!!!!!! Yet, I would've been more satisfied if Abe would've have said that their only Mother was at the Magog Business eastern mudos region of Oddworld or Noly Bamb, yet Abe should have continue saying instead: "Although after abandoning us at Rupture Farms that might've been her fault, I don't know whether if it's a great idea or not if we seek out our Mother. But there might be other Mudokans like us there of course that'll need us to free them and cure them of the Soulstorm brew disease too.".

when i beat eye of the storm the good ending never triggered, it just went straight to the credits. i got the achievement for getting the good ending and saving 1k muds so i thought the mixer being like 'the new brew is being distributed!' was the good end. so i went and got 80% quarma in every level (having to replay that godawful yard level) thinking that was how you get the true ending. and i just found out that i didnt actually need to do that. im dying. it took like 2 days

The bad ending is very bad. If you understood how the brew affect the mudokons, you'll get that by blowing up the brewery, abe's not only killed his followers but all the mudokons as they will starve for brew and die

Well until Stranger has a change of heart (which is questionable at best) he really didn't give much of a damn about what was going on with the planet. As for Munch his story doesn't really start until after Exxodus/Soulstorm so he probably isn't even ready to rise up yet.

Kind of random question; I have played and completed the first 15 levels and obtained the bad ending, and now I am going to work on getting the good and perfect endings, but I am wondering, do I need to start a new game, or can I replay the levels using level select to get good quarma in all of them? I wonder because the level select screen says it doesn’t affect story progress, so does that mean even if I replay all 15 levels and get perfect quarma, it won’t actually unlock the final two levels and endings?

Bad Ending: Mudokons' accidentally sacrifice themselves. Molluck killed the pilot as of rage (and got a new pilot) Worst Ending: the most confused one, filled with newspaper headlines. idk if everything actually go on an "Odd wipeout" True / Good ending: Molluck "helped" Abe to kill the Glukkon trio. Secret / Bonus ending: another confusing one filled with newspaper headlines. one thing for sure, Glukkons go "oofed economy" similarities: Molluck escape to Yaymans Bad: Molluck thinks if nothing left for him except being executed, including " that luxury airship, not even a crappy one" Good: Molluck done his "job" and decided to go.
