Nobody does bridges anymore because the songs "has to be" short so it streams more. Bridges used to be a tool in longer songs to take a break from the main melody and give you something unexpected and new before going back what you already know, usually into the chorus.

I feel like the trend of shorter songs isn't because of attention span but replay potential. like compare taylor swift's 10 min song to a 2 min song by another arttist and in a span of an hour taylor could be replayed only 6 times while the other 30. idk if you'd like this genre but on the other side of the spectrum, pop indie, alt rock, indie rock has been having this trend of longer songs ( i think the longest one I heard was like 8 mins of pure atmospheric ecstacy) a good artist to start on the other side is weyes blood - andromeda
