I agree I definitely think she had success from accutane and can now use whatever she wants on her skin without breaking out. She's crediting the products for the clear skin when it was of course the drug. Either that or she absolutely doesn't do this routine on a regular basis, I can't believe it.
@CMch22
@CMch22 Жыл бұрын
Agreed. I did a round of accutane around 3 years ago and my skin just isn’t prone to breaking out like it was. I can use so many products I would have never been able to use before. I will say that my skin went from incredibly oily to super dry and stayed dry. I’d still rather deal with dry skin than what I was dealing with before. Anyway, it’s probably the accutane.

As someone who struggled with cystic acne for nearly ten years, there's absolutely NO way olive oil cleared it up 🤣 it wasn't until I addressed increasing cell turnover and hormonal imbalances that I saw any improvement
@CMch22
@CMch22 Жыл бұрын
For real! Cystic acne is an under the skin issue. Topical acne treatments don’t really address it, so freaking olive oil isn’t! There is also some research showing that leaving olive oil on the skin actually increases dryness. So I’m pretty sure she isn’t experiencing any miracles from it!

I was told by my Brazilian and Portuguese mom to ALWAYS ALWAYS wear sunscreen 🧴 since I was pretty much born. She said brush your teeth 🪥 and put sunscreen on no matter what the weather and if I was leaving the house or not. Those were her last words before I moved to America when I was 17! I’m thankful to her EVERY DAY!🇧🇷🇵🇹🩰✊🏻

Interesting… I’m also Brazilian and my mother never told me that 🥲🙌🏽 there was a trend in Brazil to use coca cola on the body to get tan so a lot of people didn’t know the importance of sunscreen!
@isabelaandzico
@isabelaandzico Жыл бұрын
@@Babbie48 oi amiga! Yes, I know that many Brazilians STILL worship the sun ☀️ and don’t use sunscreen, but because I’m also Portuguese, I inherited mainly o DNA da minha vovó portuguesa. I actually (unfortunately sometimes) hardly look brasileira like my parents. But my mom was much ahead of the times and knew that especially for people like me and grandma (we both are really fair skinned with dark hair) sunscreen is nonnegotiable! My grandma 👵🏻 never goes in the sun and has perfect skin till this day! I’m grateful that my mom put her Havaianas 🩴 down and made me wear it. I CAN attest that many of my friends used baby oil and all kinds of crazy stuff for a tan!

Well it could be that acutane actually worked though. It's just coincidence and confirmation bias that she began using olive oil and 2-3 months later her skin was entirely clear. She just stopped using it but for many people it has long-term effects.

8:57, I think she meant "Normal" (not Neutral) i.e. accutane changing her skin from oily to normal. I am not accutane but I use tret topically and it has changed my skin type from oily/combo to normal/combo, which I think is a common experience for ingested/topical retinoid use.

Accutane didn't cure my cystic acne either. Neither did ANY of the prescription topical antibiotics or benzoyl peroxide type products that dermatologists prescribed to me over many years. 🤷‍♀️ One of things that has made the most positive difference in my skin (and helped it to finally clear up in my mid 30s) was to start oil cleansing with a non-emulsifying (i.e. no surfactants) oil cleanser as my first cleanse. Emulsifying ones are fine if you prefer that, but a non-emulsifying one has done wonders for my skin!

Yes I was so suprised! She looks so old in her pictures from this year wow. I mean, her skin looks 40. How is that possible?? She's so young. She's a year younger than me and her skin looks that bad?? No way. And I have nowhere near access to Skincare professional and that amount of money. At least She's using a sunscreen? But I don't feel she is using it that much considering the look on her skin. I really hope she gets some guidance because she's also in an industry where having good skin is a must to work

Had cystic pimples around the jaw line and chin years back - and it was probably due to hair product (styling wax - had some hair layers dropping on my face) and shaving product lol. Aaaaand potential irritation due to the ends of my hair pricking my face 🤔 Now using my cleansing balm as the glide for the razor, and diligently cleansing the face. I think my occlusives helped a biiiit when I still had my hair framing my face, and chopping my hair off after deciding to hell with it did wonders. Whatever the reason was, no way to be sure unless I visit the derm, but so far the pimples cleared up so kept the cleansing balm for razor slicking, and the short spiky 'do. XD On retinol now too and glad that skin is behaving well. :D

Chloes routine obviously works for her because her skin looks flawless and healthy. living libations is one of the better brands out there. I’ve been using and working with this line for years. Accutane sadly doesn't get rid of everyone's acne and some people it gets rid of it and then it comes back. It unfortunately isn't successful for everyone even if they do complete the course of treatment. I'm shocked that she attributes curing her cystic acne to natural products since it's usually hormonal which topical skincare wouldn't really be able to effect.

It is not super rare for people to need several rounds of accutane to get the long lasting results. Also doctors are the ones who are supposed walk you through the possible side effects and monitor your bloodwork to screen for issues, if influencers just started fear mongering with side effects that are not that common it would be detrimental, they might even get into legal trouble for swaying people away from medical interventions, which it is.

Depends on the moisturizer you're using. If it's very thick and occlusive, before, and if you're using something very light and watery or gel-type, after.
