I met Chloe in nyc in 2014 and she’s literally the sweetest soul I was her biggest fan back then and I randomly passed by where she was rehearsing for “The Library” in soho, I panicked when I saw her coming down the stairs!! @@noidea599 i have sensitive combo skin, the trick is to use an oil cleanser that emulsifies completely in water (look up videos / reviews!). i like the heimish all clean balm personally. you might find that oil cleansing actually helps to balance out your oily skin! but if you're nervous, just make sure to do a thorough yet gentle second cleanse to remove any leftover cleansing balm / cleansing oil. i use either a gentle foaming cleanser if i was wearing makeup, or non-foaming if my skin is feeling really stressed out- but most nights i just do an oil cleanse alone, using a silicone scrubber to emulsify everything completely before i rinse with cool water. hope this helps

Olive oil breaks many people out but even for those for whom it works - it wouldn't affect acne. So either that coincided with a shift in hormones and her acne would have gone away anyways or she was not cleansing her face properly before that and that was breaking her out. Or something else worked that she was doing.

Olive oil is an anti-inflammatory, also its an oil that's able to penetrate through sebum into your pores!

A lot of acne is due to a compromised acid mantle and moisture barrier as well as unregulated oil production. Oils can help replenish the fatty acids needed for that layer to hold hydration in and keep bacteria out. It can also relieve the skin's duty of oil production so it regulates. Many people with cystic acne do well with topical oils, though as an esthetician, I recommend less comedogenic oils like apricot, hemp, or jojoba.

oils should always be used after moisturising. always. oils are occlusives they lock moisture in. any moisturiser put after oil is going to be much less effective.
