Absolutely gorgeous! You have helped me tremendously with learning to lean into my curly, coily hair instead of flat ironing it all the time and everyone says it makes me look 10 years younger! At my age I need all the help I can get so thank you!! My first try turned out INCREDIBLE! I sleep with a satin pillowcase and that helps tremendously but I can’t get quite a week yet, but my curls are actually defined instead of looking half curly half frizzy, half straight, however I do feel like I need a fresh haircut to help as well because my hair is several inches past my bra strap. I just can’t believe how this has changed everything! Menopause isn’t that awful after all! I always had long straight blonde hair until a few years ago and now it’s as if I got a perm! I had no idea I could define my own curls like this! New subscriber! Love this channel!

I've been finger coiling for the last month or so and its made such a difference! I typically don't add the gel until after I'm done coiling, but my curls don't hold as long as I'd like them to. I'm going to try applying it before next time, like you suggested, and see if that helps!

I don't usually comment on KZbin videos but I HAD to this time. I've been watching curly hair videos foe a while now attempting the curly girl method and haven't had much luck after I ran our of deva curl gel. ( I'm from the UK and it's much more expensive to buy and harder to get over here) Then I found this video last night, washed my already clean hair because I had to try it 😂... and can happily confirm my curls look AMAZING. Your hair is beautiful btw, thanks for the help!

This was such a great tutorial! I think my issue with trying it before seeing this video was coiling sections which were too thick. I’ll try the tiny sections and see how it changes! Thanks for this in-depth video explaining how to finger coil. I just tried your finger coiling technique. Sure is time-consuming, but it looks like it will look good once I break the gel cast. Does it get easier with experience? After finger coiling I diffused it, clipped the roots for height in the crown as my hair tends to go flat on top, and I'm letting it air dry the rest of the way (I may diffuse a bit more if it looks like air drying is taking too long. Hoping for the best in terms of results. Thanks again.

Lol. Okay, first of all, can I just say how PERFECT your hair looks? OMG! I love it! Secondly, I was hysterically laughing through most of the video, but also part crying, because I'm thinking 'sure, yeah, that'll make a HUGE difference for my short, Botticelli ringlet style hair BUT, I have an 11 month old and a 3 year old, who literally drag me downstairs first thing in the morning and then take, like, sprint naps to where ten minutes in the shower/bathroom is all they'll give me for TLC. I basically wash, style and go. Goddess help me if I want to DEEP CONDITION or do any Bond Repair Salve (which takes fifteen minutes) because I'm anxiously watching the baby monitors.' SO, in short (long...?) I'd LOVE to do the finger coiling technique, but this might have to wait until my kids are older :D. Xoxo. Maybe I can do a modified version...?

How do you know which way to finger coil the curls? To the back or to the front? OK, so you have a point about finger coiling, and for the first time I tried it on my entire head... it only took 2 and 1/2 hours!!! Is this normal or does it get easier? I actually have a problem with volume, as in too much so I had to do small sections all the way up to the root to take away volume.... It does look good, but wow.... took a serious amount of time.

My hair strands are so baby fine that even a few clump of strands cannot be felt between thumb and pointer finger. Yet every time I do the wring and squeeze product amount check I never see my product oozing out. Yet I've applied large amount of products to really wet hair. By time my hair has dried my curls feel so product-y because I've been trying to achieve the wring and squeeze product ooze test. I tried many different products and layering techniques yet nothing oozes out. I also have low density hair too. My pony tails aren't even as wide as a dime. I just can't figure out why I can't get product oozing from my curl clumps. Lol. I can still finger coil w/o strands snapping so I guess I'm doing something right. Lol.
