I love you Chloe, but I had to chuckle at having “mature skin” at age 31. Only because I’m currently 47, have been making KZbin videos for nearly 6 years, and whenever I’ve put up a video for “mature skin” I’m told that I don’t qualify to do videos on the subject because I’m too young! There really should be a new term for those of us in our 30’s and 40’s. “Early Mature Skin” maybe? 🤷‍♀️

When I was a makeup artist in my 20’s and 30’s and I worked on “mature skin”clients, I always knew how to make them look their best and could offer tips, but I couldn’t really relate(and commiserate!) until the BIG changes started happening to me around age 45. I call my 30’s my hottest years! 🥰

I hear ya Risa! I also have to differ with Chloe recommendation for satin eyeshadows. Firstly it’s pretty boring, and second I think a matte shade on the upper lid can make it receding where eyes are hooded and a shimmer or even glitter on the mobile lid can bring excitement back into the look. Charlotte tilbury does such shades really well,

I'm 60 and love cool toned shadows. Absolutely nothing wrong with them or adding a touch of shine to the inner corner of the eye. I would also suggest an eyebrow gel that has fibres in it - once it is dry, fill in with a pen or pencil - lastly, gently fluff the brows with a spoolie. Jib done! Using a peach coloured corrector is an absolute must to toning down the dark undereye circles (doing this means you'll use less concealer 😊).

I adore you, Chloe, but don’t know where you are getting your information, Chloe-my mom is 77 and has tons of hair. Her eyebrows got bushier. She needed to get brow gel to keep them in place. She said the hairs aren’t as fine. The main thing for me-is that I can’t do anything super dramatic with eyes, unless it’s a Smokey eye with reds, greens, or purples. If I do create a look like that I have to use gel liner in my upper waterline only-and preferable in a pencil that is similar in color. I have all these Boxycharm that I have to give away due to sending me palettes with tons of glitters in them 🙄🤣

Hi Chloe I have been reading some of the comments and they made me smile I am 60 this year and so a little older than your average follower (I also follow @Risadoesmakeup ) and I used to work in the make up industry so a lot has changed and improved since then. All of the tips you gave I use especially the lining of the outside of the lips I don’t use a white pencil I use a MAC concealer pencil and it makes a huge difference especially if I am using red lipstick. One of the most important tips I could give anyone your age and above though is sunscreen every day I use SPF 50 every day and I have always been careful with my face ever since Joan Collins did a skin care book when I was in my 20’s 😂 Everyone can learn something new what ever their age 😘

I so relate to this! I wish I had started a good preventative skin care routine when I was 30...i started getting sun spots and wrinkles when I hit 35! I will be 42 next month and have a great skincare routine Now just wish I could wear less make up, but it’s hard to cover those darn spots up🤨😞 Chloe is gorgeous and I appreciate her giving these great tips they do really work in aging skin.

It's called the Traceless Soft Matte foundation, and u can get it online @ Sephora and there's a sale going on...I say invest in good face makeup products becuz they also have great skin care benefits in them also♡♡

Hello, I'm 45 and everyone thinks I'm 30, 35. I was never able to use expensive creams. What I did was follow the advice of my maternal grandmother who was as white as I am and always avoid the sun, I used sunscreen since I was a child and I always drank a lot of water and ate a lot of fruits and vegetables. I also always used vitamin E on the skin along with my cheap nivea cream all my life and always used oils on my face. Get the hint!

31 year old here! With some wrinkles and heaps of darkness under the eyes- something I've been doing to adapt is using the NARS creamy concealer in pot form and applying it with my fingers/small dense eyeshadow brush or DRY beauty blender. I find if I use a cream concealer and then a dry blender, when I go to set with powder, It doesnt look so heavy because nothing is overly wet and less powder gets used but my concealer sets so beautifully under my eyes. Its life changing!

Thank you for mentioning some of the changes to expect, as we age. Personally, I am 42 & I never really gave it much thought, until about 6 months or so ago, when I noticed that 1) my eyebrows are vanishing at an alarming rate (getting both thinner AND blonder) & 2) the vermillion border of my lips is losing definition- so if I wear too emollient of a lip product it gets smeary around the edges, very quickly unless I use a lip pencil or more of a stain. But some things about aging, I don't mind so much- for example, volume loss in my cheeks now gives me more of a sculpted, defined look through the cheekbones... & the hair loss/lightening isn't limited to my brows- I now also barely have any leg hair to shave. So I guess a little perspective is helpful, in dealing with these changes! 😄

Love this. When I turned 31 I started to notice my skin changed so much. I used to be able to wear liquid eyeliner perfectly and now it just looks terrible on me and the sides of my eyes are so crepe! I now use kohl or sometimes eyeshadow with a thin brush. Works so much better and suits my eyes better now.

So I watch this video yesterday and was like oh huh..., then when I did my make up today I thought I would try a few tips, Thank you! Most people Do “no make” up looks and they are 20 so it looks great on them but not me. These are practical amazing tips that work. I think it's important to mention ( since we are on this topic) that crease colour should be applied above the natural crease if we are talking about droopier lids. It opens up the eye more and it makes the droopy crease not look so droopy anymore.

This comment is late, @Chloe Morello, but I want to let you know I understand you're showing us more mature folks things that will help with makeup application and not trying to say that you yourself necessarily have mature skin. As a fellow YTer I understand that and also as a 50 year old I know things are definitely different than they were in my 20s, 30s and 40s! I appreciate this video and always enjoy learning...regardless of the teacher's age! I often implement many of these tips & tricks in my makeup routine but I did learn a few things and want to say 'thank you' for sharing. I think these tips are great for any age. Well done!

Chloe..31..is still very young. I think the 30s are a woman's peak time. I hate to see people focus on a number. I realize we need to take steps to maintain our physical self as in health, staying as fit , skincare, good sleep..but really, rather than the negative side of aging is looking at the wisdom, experience, relationships, and becoming comfortable in your own skin and in your deeper, more soul oriented self, are real positives. I have found that getting older has allowed for true relaxation and an ability to freely enjoy life. I'm 65 and yes, I miss my 30 year old self but what's the alternative? Makeup and skin care is important but stressing over each birthday can negate all the efforts. Thanks Chloe for this upload. You look lovely as always. Be well :)
